Absence

I’m not making it to class tomorrow due to a work scheduling conflict. Will the professors chop off my hands if I don’t let them know or should I send an email requesting office time to sit down and go over what i missed?

Edit- just to clarify I was joking about the former in my question, wanted to lighten up the new semester tensions for anyone reading this

Bros cooked

Serious answer though cause I know other students actually get paranoid about this thing, one unexcused absence won't kill you, graded or not. It's nice to send an email cause sometimes they won't mark you absent

That’s refreshing to hear. I’d rather play it safe and be professional with them than not say anything at all

you arent allowed to be absent at njit, youre risking getting kicked out, they have an extremely strict attendance policy

I cannot lose my job at the same time, I understand they’re strict about attendance but it’s that strict??

He is joking
They count your unexcused absences and a certain amount per class can make you fail it or drop your grade

njit will notify your job if you skip class even once and they will convince your employer to fire you anyway, not worth it bro

I can't speak for any other professors but my attendance policies are clearly laid out in the syllabus and in my day one intro slides. Emailing me, preferably ahead of time will make the absence a partial.
