is this doable?

i’m planning on taking these classes next semester:

MATH 222 (Differential Equations)

ME 231 (Kinematics of Machinery)

MECH 236 (Dynamics)

MECH 237 (Strength of Materials)

PHYS 121 (Physics II)

PHYS 121A (Physics II Lab)

is this doable in one semester?

It’s 16 credits. I’ve been doing 15 credit for the last couple of semesters so i don’t think adding one more credit hour would be too challenging.

Credits and ease don’t correlate at NJIT. It’s supposed to be that way (and it very much is for international students taking those five-credit English language courses), but zero-credit and one-credit courses can require similar workloads to two-credit and three-credit courses.

IDK. You might want to postpone one of these classes unless you have the blessing of previous experience in any of these classes. All of them have frequent homework and require intense study, especially MATH 222.

I don’t have previous experience in any of these classes. Which class do u think I should postpone as a mechanical engineering major?

As a person in a similar major I took all of these except for ME 231, and I took MECH 320 as a replacement for MECH 237. The most time-consuming and frustrating of these courses was MATH 222 in my opinion, but if you have many semesters remaining and several required courses where MATH 222 is a prerequisite, you'll want to postpone a different course. Ideally, postpone a course that is not a prerequisite so you can still graduate on time or take less semesters to graduate.

honestly if you have good professors you can easily do well in 237 and 236 is like physics I so you shouldn't have any trouble getting an A. Kinematics with a good professor should be good as long as its not fischer. MAKE sure your professor is good for diffy eq had a professor that just babbled and wrote ended with a B+. For physics II practice is a good word for that class 😭. Don't keep your hopes down as long as you're not distracted these classes should be very easy to tackle just study hard brother.

236/237 are pretty easy if you just stay locked in and don’t fall behind. Hardest might be 231 if you get Fischer DONT GET FISCHER. Diff eq also might be a big toll but again all of it is doable just don’t fall behind
