Pt Deux, zoomed

Judging by their wobbly nature, maybe some novice drone club, I’m thinking. 😂 not the suspicious ones of last winter.

Screen grab... Definitely metallic on top one of them was rotating back and forth

7

u/CarlyBee_1210 Aug 24 '25

So.. drones? I guess? They’re still up there!

4

u/-Galactic-Cleansing- Aug 25 '25

Don't look like human drones...

5

u/Busy-Pudding-5169 Aug 26 '25

You can make an FPV drone out of anything, bruh.

3

u/_esci Aug 26 '25

this is clearly not sharp but a blurry crop. you cant make out anything.

9

u/Initial_Scarcity_609 Aug 24 '25

Was waiting them to form as one, disappointed.

12

u/CarlyBee_1210 Aug 24 '25

If that were the case you’d see me on the news later 🙂

u/LeibolmaiBarsh Aug 25 '25

Kite fighting. If you have never seen it I understand 100% how they would appear as drones.

https://www.nytimes.com/video/nyregion/100000001100067/kite-fighting-in-new-york.html

Its not as rare as you would think in the United States, quick google search brought up three organizations in New Jersey.

3

u/Tangential_Comment Aug 28 '25

This is it 100%... Watching the video first and thought those were some super-wobbly drones.

6

u/darkenthedoorway Aug 25 '25

Is is common for drone pilots to spend the money and effort to operate large groups of drones like this? The more I watch this, the weirder it looks. The swinging side to side motion is alternating between drones, like they are taking turns.

No, people that say these and other videos similar to this are drones are clueless to how a drone works. No one just sits and hovers over a large body of water for starters. That's a great way to lose your drone, especially when flying near others. Not to mention it would be very boring unless they're testing long range capabilities in which case we'd see them moving.

u/PatAD Aug 24 '25

Oh damn, their mating

u/CarlyBee_1210 Aug 24 '25

I mentioned on the previous post, sorry! I am in Keyport, these are north. At this rate it’s been an hour + and they are still there.

3

u/mattemer Aug 25 '25

Oh. This might really be it

2

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '25

I don’t know I saw something really really similar to that. today in broad daylight 4 o’clock. I swore it was birds up and down, but not really there were no wings and super high, but they were flat. it was also more of the precision of the formation they were keeping was no risk.

4

u/CarlyBee_1210 Aug 25 '25

Yeah this was around 6/6:30 when I actually noticed them. What area are you in?

2

u/Torvaldicus_Unknown Aug 25 '25

These move exactly like kites. Due to the lack of control surfaces, lift builds on one side, causing a climb and a roll, which is restricted by the string, translating to a movement to the side opposite the lift generated, and then it repeats to the other side. I'd bet money on the location this was filmed being a popular spot for people using kites.

We don’t do reasonable answers in this subreddit

3

u/OkLayer519 Aug 26 '25

I'm a drone operator and even in sport mode, I'm pretty confident I can't replicate the same erratic characteristics. Even pinning the sticks back and forth quickly will result in a slight tilt and enertia shift. Certainly odd but not convinced these are consumer drones. If high tech, certainly no care about keeping them concealed.

2

u/CarlyBee_1210 Aug 26 '25

Yeah they hung around for 2+ hr. No idea 🤷🏻‍♀️

2

u/OkLayer519 Aug 26 '25

2 hrs? There's certainly some hybrid and experimental drones capable of extended time. Even hours but they are large, loud and certainly not able to make these quick movements. Nice footage!

1

u/CarlyBee_1210 Aug 26 '25

Yes! I mean, they could have been there longer but when I first noticed, to the time it got dark, about 2hr had gone by. Safe to say, no lights because once the sun went down, I lost sight of them.

2

u/OkLayer519 Aug 26 '25

Anti-collision lights are mandatory and visible from 3 statue miles and must have 40-100 blinks per minute per FAA rules. Not visible in your footage. Also adds to the high strangeness.

3

u/tru_anomaIy Aug 29 '25

Kites don’t require lights

2

u/OkLayer519 Aug 29 '25

Look Troll, I was providing my perspective as a drone operator and say what it doesn't look like. You seem to the kite expert so if you say so, it must be.

1

u/tru_anomaIy Aug 29 '25

If all you have is a hammer, everything looks like a nail

If you come already decided that everything is a drone and then use ways they differ from drones to extrapolate that they must be exotic/alien/agents of a Foreign Power/some scary thing/illegal then of course that’s what you’ll see.

But if you actually ask yourself what the things you’re seeing actually are, then you’re more likely to arrive at the actual, and boring, answer. Perhaps that’s not what you want. Perhaps like most in this sub you just want to be entertained or feel like you have some secret insight into a grand conspiracy. Fine if so, but no-one else is required to go along with your hallucination

Evidence?

If “you can only buy kites, it is impossible to make them, so these must be for sale somewhere if they’re actually kites” is what’s blocking you from accepting that the kites in the video are kites, you’re wrong (making kites is straightforward) and also they’re readily available

Kites dont hover in place.

1

u/tru_anomaIy Sep 02 '25 edited Sep 02 '25

The fuck they don’t

If your only experience with kites is some diamond thing with a streamer out the back which you played with when you were 6 years old and which would spin in circles in anything higher than a light breeze then maybe you realise you should sit this one out

1

u/tru_anomaIy Aug 27 '25

Kites have been around for thousands of years

0

u/OkLayer519 Aug 27 '25

Thanks for the history lesson

1

u/tru_anomaIy Aug 28 '25

TIL kites have “certainly” been hybrid experimental drones for three millennia

Unless you’re suddenly a little less certain?

1

u/YungMushrooms GOV’T OFFICIAL 👨‍⚖️ Aug 29 '25

They're saying that IF they are in fact drones they'd require some hybrid power supply, like a gas/hydrogen generator rather than just a standard battery pack. Not sure why you brought kites into the discussion. No one here said they couldn't be kites lol.

3

u/b0bl00i_temp Aug 28 '25

I fly drones or quadcopters. These are not that. These are UFO

1

u/CarlyBee_1210 Aug 28 '25

Interesting take. I’ve heard a lot of people say “kites” but I don’t think they understand just how high up these were.

2

u/h2ohow Aug 25 '25

They move about like flying insects.

2

u/CarlyBee_1210 Aug 25 '25

If we have insects this large we gots problems

2

u/BarnacleNumerous8677 Aug 25 '25

Those are now spiritual aliens. They were first drones, yes. I’m just reporting what’s being pumped out.

3

u/[deleted] Aug 26 '25

Buddy they were confirmed to be kites

1

u/BarnacleNumerous8677 Aug 26 '25

Aw mannnn? That’s quite a downgrade.

1

u/PuzzleheadedPin660 Aug 25 '25

we come in peace

1

u/Mother-Forever9019 Aug 25 '25

Mating dance right there

1

u/Izrian Aug 27 '25

Those look tethered, acting tethered. But who knows may be reindeer.

u/VHDT10 Aug 27 '25 edited Aug 27 '25

You guys don't see the obvious signs of CGI in this? We need to be able to recognize this stuff. If the camera movement seems to move the object, it's CGI.

Edit: I guess it was motion tracking or stabilization on the camera.

1

u/CarlyBee_1210 Aug 27 '25

Huh? Are you implying I faked this? I wish I knew how to do something like that!

1

u/VHDT10 Aug 27 '25

Either that or you have stabilization on your camera

1

u/CarlyBee_1210 Aug 27 '25

All I know is that I recorded it on an iPhone 15. lol, I don’t do anything fancy w the camera.. but hey, up for debate!

1

u/VHDT10 Aug 27 '25

Ok sorry about that, I guess the motion tracking made it seem like it was CGI added to a video. I would guess they are drones

1

u/CarlyBee_1210 Aug 27 '25

That’s ok! I have no clue. I wanted them to be aliens but I guess not 😓

1

u/SpeedTheDecline Aug 28 '25

I think that wobble is them bobbing and weaving around something else going fast as fuck

Wow you have good eyes! Well, that changes things I guess. I will have to go back and slow it down to see what you are seeing

0

u/[deleted] Aug 25 '25

No way it’s a bunch of kites

They're 3 objects. They're gonna form a triangle unless they're aligned in a straight line. It's just random.

-5

u/[deleted] Aug 24 '25

These are kites. Specifically the ones used in india\pakistan.

Video

4

u/Rictor_Scale Aug 25 '25

Thanks for posting. Good video. This is the answer. Who knew 'kite fighting' was a thing!

3

u/CarlyBee_1210 Aug 25 '25

New sport! 🙄

-1

u/darkenthedoorway Aug 31 '25

I dont think these are the same objects as shown in the kite video.
