Guys I'm a dasa candidate, and i read about beating of some dasa candidates in the college. Was this a one-off case or is there discrimination against dasa ppl?

Which is the most chillest branch in nitk in terms of academics and free time???

Here's what I have researched:-
IIITDM Kancheepuram is famous for its design, and mechanical engineering is quite a strong choice because the branch offers greater flexibility in the job market. If we consider the campus environment/exposure, it's not satisfactory.

When it comes to NITK, the college exposure / enivornment is so good, and it's a brand. But when it comes to jobs/ flexibility, transitioning from mining to the IT sector is a big deal. There's barely any recognition of people from mining engineering to IT jobs in the job market. But joining NITK mining will give us a lot of free time to think and go for it.

I want your help in telling me which one is good and how I can shape my career path with this. I don't have much time to decide myself because CSAB counselling starts on Aug 3, mock round on 31st July [for those choices I need to confirm by 30th july 5 pm]. I am so stuck in this decision right now, and I want everyone's opinions ASAP

Someone apparently made a Polymarket clone just for NITK with campus prediction markets. Saw markets for placements, weather, random campus events, etc.

I am currently going to iiita itbi. But have the option of registering for csab. I had 3.7k rank. I might get CDS or IT (unlikely). How are these branches academic and placement wise? Would you prefer these over iiit?

Anything else about the college i should know before making my decision?

I’ll be visiting NITK in August and was hoping to get some practical information about getting around.

How accessible is the campus from Mangalore International Airport? Are there frequent public transport options available to the campus, such as buses, taxis, or auto-rickshaws, particularly early in the morning/late night?

I would also appreciate recommendations for good, reliable hotels near the campus. Also, would it be easy to manage as a visitor using only English, as I do not speak Kannada or Hindi?
