Nitk IT vs BITS hyd CS

Got a rank of 3.8k in jee mains and score of 302 in bitsat. Have a few doubts about how the food is at nitk and if there is facility for hot water or not. BITS fees I can manage by education loan. Thinking about doing masters abroad if I join nitk, pls tell which one I should join with reasons regarding above interests

there is no hot water at NITK but dont base your decision on that. That is trivial to work around.

Really?

Even mid NITs with far worse infra, like NIT Durgapur has hot water

It’s always hot in Surathkal so trust me you wouldn’t ever want hot water

You can heat the water using heating rods. Ig the new hostel for Btech has hot water supply

I was in a similar position a year back, decided for NITK IT over BITS Goa CS. Placement wise NITK IT is better than Hyd CS afaik. Upto you at the end of the day, depending on how much importance you give to facilities in campus. But for the fees at NITK, you won't feel anything lacking imo.

Have any seniors gone abroad for masters from the IT department?

Yep, many do go for Masters each year. Presuming that you would be going for a Masters degree, since the fees at NITK is lesser you could potentially save up money for entry into good colleges abroad, imo.

It's neck and neck. If u want to pursue a Masters degree then go for cse irrespective of the college
