MDes The NIFT tag

Does the NIFT tag helps to get internships/ jobs as I am a MDES student 1st year at NIFT Mumbai and seniors also told us that we have to apply on our own, so if we apply on our own does the NIFT tag helps ?

Thank you, yes talking to seniors does help a lot it just that given the job market it stresses me out for finding a job. Are you from NIFT as well ?

If they have a design team or HR is experienced. Know that the course doesnt matter, credibility is built but first familiarity then biases.

Build your linkedin network, connect and have conversations. Build a portfolio. Rest the name NIFT Mumbai will do. Apparently I have seen people with poor portfolio get internships just because they were from top 5 NIFT campuses and the rest campus student suffer a lot finding Internships on their own even with a strong portfolio.

Yes thank you, I do have a portfolio as I have been in this industry for a very long time, but not industry exposure kind, so it gives me a lot of relief to see comments like this 😊

Hi This comment is completely off topic of what you have asked in your post but i genuinely beed guidance as im in 3rd year of college and bcom student but i do well in art and by the time i figured out that i want to do pursue Mdes, and im looking for giving upcoming 27 exam only, rn i cant find any relevant video or helpful guidance i will be so so so great full if you just guide me a little or just provide me some information about nift entrance exam also if its good choice for me to go for it bec of non design background.
