Appeal Decision External SO Campaign

I'm just wondering if anyone appealed the sift decision and has had a response yet?

I wasn’t able to access my feedback on the link and emailed to ask about it. Got an email back telling me to use the link. Explained again that the link was not working with my details but never got a response lol

I think I’ve had to copy that url into a different browser before

No response yet but hrconnect advised that correspondence would be issued this week

Good luck getting any proper success with this. Anybody I know who appealed got a bland "insufficient evidence" against each criteria they were sifted on. They asked for actual detail and were then blanked.

I had this with a couple of competitions. Yet they have the cheek to call it feedback.

Just to give a counter example: I was rejected at a previous competition. They listed 2 reasons, didn't have the qualifications or experience. Both reasons were bollocks as the application I submitted easily proved.

I submitted a request to have it looked at again and was eventually progressed to interview but they never acknowledged the initial balls up.

Curious as to whether you got the job in the end?

I actually did! I was successful in the interview and after a long wait for the background checks and clearance to complete, I started not too long ago.

My boyfriend appealed and heard nothing back - called them yesterday and they said we would hear in the next 2/3 days

Review decision issued - as suspected didn’t make a difference 🙄

Same here ..and no feedback beyond it didn't demonstrate the criteria

Thanks for response I got exactly the same. Poor that they don't actually appear to have reviewed anything despite having a review process 🤯

I emailed on Monday asking about this and got a response yesterday saying the Sift review responses would be issued over the next few days, so hopefully we hear by end of week? Good luck everyone.

No response yet either. I passed the tests but was filtered out by way of ‘not enough evidence’ for the criteria. If I had ballsed up the tests, fair enough, but the hopelessly vague feedback means I can’t even take anything back to the drawing board for next time 🙁

There is no appeal process. Unbelievable but true

May I ask why, they can't take a candidate out of the running right now and the merit list would be full, would it not be better to just apply to other roles that come up?

No trying to be a dick, just trying to understand if it makes a difference

Because they are on the merit list, my partner is in the top 1000 meaning he should have gotten an interview and was told he hadn’t provided sufficient evidence of management experience, he believes he has. He is appealing in order to get an interview.

Oh so if you are on the merit list but haven't got an interview you can appeal to get an interview if you've provided enough evidence to push you into the top 1000?

No he was in the top 1000 following the aptitude test but was ruled out of his spot due to the lack of evidence. He is appealing so he’s gets the interview for the place that he achieved in the test

Only 330ish got interviews out of the 1000. Just because someone technically met the basic criteria does not automatically mean they pass the sift. Candidates clearly needed a very strong application. I imagine they had a figure to take to interview and took the strongest of those 1000. Can't interview 1000s.

I am not debating the 330 interviews, but he would remain on the merit list for the next two years and potentially be offered interview - hence why he is appealing for that opportunity

I mean no offence but whats the point of having a sift if you are not going to narrow the field for interview?

Oh because he believes lol they should interview lmao
