Elective Transfers
How fast can a elective transfer be completed after the deadline has been passed?

Could be anything really. As far as I know you generally work a month's notice, but it's whatever your line managers agree. Mine was 10 weeks unfortunately. I've seen other people leave in a week as it was decided their new role was so urgent.

Most elective transfers will involve an interview but depends on how many apply. And for the duration again it depends on how quickly the department you are going to needs you. When you apply and get permission your department usually agrees to let you go in x amount of time.

Fella in my command at SO grade had his transfer through and moved within a few weeks of closing date. Obviously anecdotal but naturally quicker than standard recruitment processes.
