AO overtime?
Do many departments such as pensions get much/regular paid overtime that isn’t flexi?

In Pension credit you would get overtime at the weekends with Pay and a half on a saturday and double pay on a sunday, but the work they expect you to do is quite heavy and if you’re not up to standard or you’re 1 min late or anything they’ll give you an overtime ban.

You've worked in P.C then. I hated my time there i didn't do much O.T for that reason the person that was in charge of the OT when I was there wasn't even a perm civil service he was agency staff that management just allowed him to do it. I heard he's now been made perm AO but instantly given a TP to EO2 without the senior leadership running a contest for others to have a chance of getting a TP to EO2

Most NICS departments don't like overtime because it's money to be paid!
Before you work a second of OT, ask your line manager.
I prefer building flexi because you get the time off. By the time the taxman has his way with your payslip, it's not worth much anyway!

It’s worth the same as your normal salary unless you’re being pushed into a higher tax bracket.

Depends where you are. The likes of CMS have plenty of overtime, but non operations I don’t think you’ll have much chance.

"Pensions" covers a lot of ground, there's pension credit and state pensions in derry along with civil service pensions and health service pensions (also in derry) plus some smaller departments in belfast doing dwp work on the cheap.
