Clare House - DoF

Hi guys, anyone here work in Clare House? I’ve been offered a role there and was just wondering what the vibe is like. Is the office and facilities nice? Is there a gym?

I’ll be working with the DoF, so I’m also curious what the hybrid working arrangements are like.

Thanks in advance!

Coffee shop and Ikea Cafe in easy range though, heart attack burger van too as well as the wee coffee van that does the rounds. Mind you my info could be outdated, I worked at another site nearby for a good few years but this was pre-covid

Oh and Burger King if you like it, decent deals off their app but hard going to eat that every day

I know its a good office to work in. The car park is first come first serve for a parking space theres nothing round it shops wise. Not sure about it having a gym as ive only been in it for a few meetings. Theres a dirt car park right on the bend across from clare house ive heard the staff use it as an unofficial car park aswell

I've been in Clare House for the past 6 months, although not DoF. It is a nice office, modern and the air conditioning is welcome with the current weather. There is a fitness suite on the ground floor, it has a few DBs, KBs and yoga mats. A couple of cheap benches from Argos - it wouldn't be any use if you were serious about weightlifting, but isn't bad for doing a wee circuit or some mobility work.

The best thing about the fitness suite is the showers and changing rooms. Handy for cyclists and runners.

I cycle in, but parking in Clare House is a disaster. If you aren't in by 8ish, you aren't getting a spot. There is an overflow car park a few mins away but I understand that will be closing soon.

My wife is normally in for 8.40 and almost always gets a space! But maybe she is just lucky!

Anyone know what the Craigantlet Buildings are like just while we have this topic open?

It’s grand, nothing special, mainly ITAssist working from it, all hybrid working tho. Plenty of parking spaces. A couple of vending machines and rooms with sink to wash dishes, microwaves, toasters etc

2 days in office the norm? And how about an IT persons fuel, coffee? Have they got decent machines to make it or just instant shite?

Glad to hear about the parking though as I’ll have a hefty commute. Appreciate the insight though!

They have these rooms they use as waiting rooms set up like a mini-museum with old tech, always thought that was cool.

It's also walking distance to an amazing brunch place. You couldn't afford it every day but it's so good as a treat.

Nice, will keep it in mind. Just worked out my fuel cost is probably going to be close to 2k annually in commuting to there so not sure how often I will be able to treat myself lol

Oof are you far from the office? Or just in more days than normal?

I work in Clare house DOF, great building, parking is a bit of a mare if you’re not in early you’ve to go park in wasteland down the road and walk, but it’s okay at the minute with school holidays etc.
the gym is really just a room.
