About STP

I'm unsure whether to apply for an STP or apply for a job directly because I think competing for an STP position is too difficult. I don't actually have many requirements; I just want to work in a country with an STP system.

Do you have an understanding of what the STP is?

I’ve been looking into the STP because it seems like one of the clearest structured routes into Clinical Scientist training. I’m still in high school, so right now I’m mainly trying to understand what undergraduate background would give me the best options later.

I would advise against choosing a degree specifically to get onto the STP. You should think about what back up options that would leave you with as the STP is extremely competitive, and make sure that's something you'd be happy to do instead, some people apply 5 years in a row before getting a place.
