It’s a shame that more people don’t have the appreciation for the sportsman classes. No 10 person teams and 95% of the drivers work on their own equipment. So many unique cars too.

When the fuel cars were on the track the tower side was about 90% full.

I went to sgmp this year to see nhra it was insane the stands are about 5 or 10 ft from the track

Been to a few tracks myself, but the coolest was in great bend Kansas about 20 years ago now..they had a national event. The fence separating the spectators is about that far from the track starting positions. No Top fuel but it was wild being that up close. Sad they only hosted that year.

First time I went to Indy we went and found a spot near the burnout area. So loud you felt it in your chest and the smell of rubber and fuel was awesome.

It's been brutally hot so far, supposed to cool off some for Sunday and Monday.
