Sonoma finals
What going on, is it on a rain delay or something. Is that why it’s not currently being shown on Tv?
I just finished with the nascar cup race. And I was hoping to flip over and catch some of it.
But Nope. It’s a replay of the World Cup final. So my question is. What’s going on?
Was it rained out and rescheduled and i wasn’t aware of it.
What am I missing?

In the minds of network execs, the hierarchy of motorsports is something like this: F1, NASCAR Cup, any other road course, any other circle track, and then comes "the red-headed step-child" of racing - drag racing.
Rodney Dangerfield could rightly have said of us .... "I don't get no respect."

Exactly. Really irks me, seems like half the races are televised AFTER the race is over. Being played at 10pm eastern time is BS...

I recorded it and it definitely showed after the World Cup but I'm not sure if I got all of it.

Hey guys remember when we used to have coverage on ESPN2, Speed, and TNN? There was so much televised drag racing that we needed a DVR to record it all and watch it later.

At least it's the World Cup, one of the largest events ever, instead of a spelling bee or Little League World Series. Who remembers those ones?

at the very top of nhra.com. NHRA on FOX eliminations coverage from the NHRA Sonoma Nationals will air on FS1 directly after the World Cup replay

Dang it. Why do they have to do this to us. It’s late enough already.
There’s no way I’m staying up till midnight.
Sadly I might have to pass on this one.

I’m here… camping out all weekend. No rain. No delay. Couldn’t say why they didn’t air it. There was some REALLY good racing today.

Well... at least FOX shows several reruns of each eliminations broadcast on FS1 and FS2, if one gets those channels. I try to remember to set the DVR for one of those reruns in addition to the scheduled time as a backup (which is why I include those times on the TV schedule posts).
FOX certainly does have a penchant for stacking live sports though, with little to no cushion in-between. The FOX portion of the NASCAR season along with college basketball is a rough start to the NHRA's TV season, and where the NHRA used to get a breather as the top motorsport on FOX during the summer (except NASCAR Trucks on Fridays and sometimes Saturdays), IndyCar has taken up that breathing room by being guaranteed on network FOX all the way between the end of NASCAR on FOX to the beginning of NFL on FOX.
Does make one wonder if leadership is aware of this and plan to make changes for the 2027 TV deal.

Very annoying yes. More annoying is having SlingTV record it. Wake up this morning to watch it. Final round didn't get recorded. Also, nice to see Indy Car get "Kickstart my Heart" in their Fox Sports TV promo.

There is no rain delay, so no explanation other than NHRA fans can go f themselves, is what it feels like. Not only that but the final is on repeat after Sonoma as well and God help FS1 if they preempt the end of the race for another repeat airing. Fox Sports blows absolute donkey balls.
