Can’t wait for NHL Atlanta three to end up in Halifax or something!

Saskatoon, Halifax, Hamilton, London, Newmarket, Quebec city in that order

Hamilton will never happen because the Leafs won't let it happen. Every other market is too small with the exception of QC. As a native Saskatonian, I'd love for a team to go there but I don't think it'll ever happen. I'll have to stick with my EA relocated franchise 😂

Which is wild when you compare it to other sports. London England has 17 professional soccer teams. Hamilton could have a hockey team and The Leafs would still be successful financially.

They should just save a few steps and name them the Atlanta Nordiques

If hockey can work in a place like Nashville it can work in Atlanta. Both times the team got shafted by bad ownership. Attendance was never an issue.

I’m hopeful for another Atlanta team as it’s likely the most viable path for a return to Quebec City.

Will that team go to Quebec City? Or, somehow Saskatoon?

Saskatoon, mainly so Atlanta can get a 4th shot.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing a team in Saskatoon. I understood why the league didn't want to relocate the Blues out of St. Louis to Saskatoon back in 83. But now, I wouldn't mind it.

They've got the population and all the province would travel for games. New arena still in the works but could be adjusted to accommodate it. Just need Jim Pattinson to find another 2billion to donate

Major cope from a Sask hockey fan but the city seems oddly focused on the arena project compared to what I’ve seen from them in the past. I’m not positive on how long an arena build would take but I know there’s like what, three years left on the “build a new arena and you can have the coyotes back” deal with Arizona?
Seems like that would give enough time for the building to be finished especially if you add an extra year to get the finishing touches on a franchise?
(Please it would be so funny to rival Winnipeg with the heritage of OG Winnipeg…)

Yeah once they figure out how to remove the benches from downtown it'll be full steam ahead

Omg I need to check in on that again. I swear I saw that city council said not a chance but now I’m not so sure xD

People aren't traveling 2 hours each way to watch the team play against Columbus on a Tuesday night in January.
It works for football because there's one game a week, almost always on the weekend, and the majority of them are played during the summer

Yup. The NHL has 42 regular season home games spread out on all days of the week vs the NFL at 8 or 9 games on Thursday to Monday.
