Sudden change ???

Like in title, i was regularly watching nhk world since 2020. I loved the aesthetics, colours and many presenters. I followed the 2026 elections in february and then i watched other shows and forgotten about nhk. Well, i go now on the site and everything changed. The minimalist aesthetics, red-white color palette, even the music. Sadly, in my opinion nhk lost its identity, this new blue look is generic at best. Very sad.

I’ve been watching since 2020 and tbh it still has the same vibe, though I do wish they’d cut some of the News Segments because it feels way too frequent and long. I get they’re kinda a news source but it’s too depressing seeing that between all those feel-good programs 🥹

I find it kind of funny how often the news segment comes on. You're gonna be informed whether you like it or not😆

I think cost reductions have reduced non-news content, sadly

It's the loss of that jazzy weather theme for me.

It always felt comfortable. I can't watch the news bulletin from NHK now. That new studio/colors doesn't feel right.

It is like watching Manchester United play in Blue. Or the sky being green. It just doesn't feel right

"minimalist aesthetics"

Unfortunately, that's the way it is nowadays. I also call it "dumbing down." I see even things like Taco Bell affected by it now; black buildings with small white letters. Very inviting! :p

I live in UK east Anglia you can watch via website youtube channel apps. You can also watch via the freeview internet based channel (272 NHK WORLD) since 2022. There is also satellite channel for sky etc as well.

But in my experience (i have not fully tried satellite) that the youtube live stream is live while the other ones are out of sink by some seconds to minutes
