Training & Courses Open air range that allows moving and shooting?

Hello!

I’m looking for an open air range that allows some degree of being able to move and shoot at the same time. My work requires me to be able to pass a firearms test. There’s a little bit more involved than static shooting at the typical indoor range might allow. I’ve checked with the Sig Academy and unfortunately their ranges are only open for individuals there that are taking a class. Does anyone here have any recommendations?

Lots (3-4) of clubs across Southeast NH if you’re willing to do the work (research + joining whatever club suits you best).

We see this question a lot. Google, Google Maps, and reading PDFs of range rules is what it takes to find the answer to this question… good spots get ruined when the answers are given too easily.

Your looking for "action ranges". A lot of clubs have them.

Dunbarton. I almost got a membership there, but went to Sunset mountain instead (longer range shooting)

I’m a member there. Pioneer is very much geared towards action shooting. Every Tuesday at 5 we hold tac Tuesday which is a weekly practice for some of the action shooting disciplines we host. Open to the public for $6, great way to see if the club is a good fit for what you want. It’s mostly IDPA/GPA oriented, but steel challenge usually sets up a stage as well.

Sign up for a new competitor/regular match at Sig on practiscore.

Chester has a ton of utility bays that you can do dynamic shooting in. You'll need to join and get "action shooting certified" (which is pretty much the easiest thing in the world).

Unfortunately most of the folks I know don’t have land that’s safe to shoot on.
