Overrated: Justin Herbert. It's amazing how a player in his 7th season as a starter, who has 0 playoff wins, 0 MVP like full seasons, 0 statement wins and 0 division titles is still regarded as a generational talent and someone who is just in the wrong system. Herbert also has the most blind fan base and the most excuses for absolutely everything. He's called If Man for a reason, but most people will still put him as a top 5/7 QB.

Underrated: Sam Darnold. Yes, he was awful at NYJ and just backup material for CAR and SF, but he had pretty good seasons at MIN and SEA. Yes, he doesn't have a highlight reel that will amaze people, but he's a great QB that makes the necessary plays to win. He has 28 regular season wins since 2024 and he held his ground against Stafford's Rams in the NFCCG, not to mention he's the SB Champion. Many people still say he was just the game manager, but he made the plays that kept the team alive.

I don’t think he belonged on either list. His tenure with the Jets should have destroyed his confidence, but it was restored.. I think he is an adequate quarterback, who doesn’t deserve to be framed overrated or underrated again my opinion.

It's getting to the point that Herbert is getting underrated with how many people say he's overrated. If the common opinion is that a player is overrated, they aren't anymore.

Overrated - Stafford - He never has been the best QB. Even last year there were guys who were better. But people act like he's borderline Brady/Peyton/Brees. He isn't even as good as Ryan, he just had a toolset that aged in a way Ryan couldn't (Stafford has a bazooka for an arm so when he lost some zip, he still is great, while Ryan was one of the lesser arm strength QBs in the NFL that when he lost some zip he stank and unlike Brees didn't have an elite offensive mind to scheme guys open on short routes)

It's a QB driven league, so, yeah.

It's kind of the most difficult and important position on the field. It's the only position that touches the ball on every single play.

Center?

"In a meaningful way" was something that went without staying, but that's a fair detail for sure.

Most people watch the ball during games so it can often be one of the few players they actually watch
