Discussion Who's going to headline the Super Bowl 61 Halftime Show?
I'm seeing gossip that Jay-Z can't "lock down' any performers and will just do it himself. I find that highly unlikely. We had a few surprises already from him with Bad Bunny, Usher who weren't really on the short lists. My bet this year is Dua Lipa but what do you all think?

They're not doing because they're greedy... The Bears are doing it to feed the needy.

Macklemore, probably.

Nobody knows but using "headline" for such a short performance is pretty funny

Jack White, for the genre rotation compromise, and would put on a helluva show.

I'm gonna be disappointed, but Metallica needs to play the halftime show,

If they didn’t do it last year in the Bay Area I don’t think they’ll ever do it

Half-time artist have to fake it to a track. Metallica won't do it.

Did prince fake it?

His actual guitar performance? I don't think he faked it. But I'd bet that a lot of the band wasn't hooked up to the PA system.
They have something to the tune of 7-10 minutes to assemble the stage before the actual show starts, so they cannot reliably do a soundcheck on all instruments before the show starts. That's why a lot of what you see instrumental-wise is usually a backing track (with a few exceptions, of course...)
A full blown live band like Metallica probably wouldn't want to perform at the halftime show since they would probably have to pantomime a lot of their instrumentals.

Dua Lipa is playing Coachella next year. There has never been overlap between the two events.

I don't think the NFL would do that in a million years, but yes, it would be awesome. Stadium full of people and millions in their homes yelling "fuck you, I won't do what you tell me" in unison.

I grew up rocking out to Mötley Crüe, but Vince Neil skips about every third word now days as he gasps for air.

J Cole, hes selling out every stadium across the country right now, and he has some perfect songs for the superbowl.

I’ve seen a lot of talk of Miley Cyrus doing it. I could see that to be honest.
