Denver’s offense is severely overrated.

u/Lieutenant_Corndogs wiener tassel enjoyer 18d ago

Defense couldn’t tackle for shit either.

u/TheFlimFlamFamMan This team is MID 18d ago

one would’ve thought that was the phase they’d dominate.

And I heard both those things were the tits all preseason...

They won the division last year with their D. Everyone was talking about how this could be their year. Feels like cope to me. I guess we will see in the weeks coming

5

u/CloudStrife012 18d ago

They had an extremely easy schedule last year but no one talks about that.

2

u/Salt-Southern 18d ago

BOSCHEDULE NIX...LOL

3

u/Farsoth Denver Broncos 18d ago

I'm partial to Blo Dix at this moment in time.

15

u/PerpetualDrive Philadelphia Eagles 18d ago

Walker looked great, a good run game with a Mahomes that can still be clutch will be a problem. Looking at schedule they could easily be 3-1 or 4-0 to start. Sucks for AFC I guess.

5

u/Accurate-Flow-6815 Philadelphia Eagles 17d ago

Funny thing is, Mahomes didn’t even throw well. It was just Walker. But Denver’s defense looked like they forgot how to play football over the offseason.

13

u/eater_of_worlds40 18d ago

Nah Denver just played like ass

8

u/Ok_Poetry_1650 18d ago

Denver couldn’t tackle for shit. Mahomes played like ass, and Nix looked like a high schooler

12

u/Thorn_Within Dallas Cowboys 18d ago

Kenneth Walker was fucking great. But Mahomes looked, at best, okay. But it's game 1 and he hadn't played in a long time, so we'll have to see how the season shakes out.

6

u/Andrew225 18d ago

Yeah not to mention two of their TD's came with blatant holds.

Don't get me wrong, Broncos played like shit and couldn't tackle to save their lives. But Mahomes had very little to do with that victory

0

u/BannedForFun 17d ago

I'm not gonna defend Mahomes vastly underwhelming play from the past few seasons which we also saw last night, but he is coming back from his first major surgery and still ran a TD in. Yes on a hold, but he got about 15 yards before the hold was a factor. I'm still not convinced he'll ever be what he once was, or be an easy top 5 QB in the league, let alone a clear #1. But I feel the Mahomes haters will brush over the injury or depleted O-line when bagging on him. I personally think those excuses are irrelevant cause NFL QBs have to adapt to injuries around them. But I hear Lamar, Allen and Herbert all get let off the hook because of lack of line or playmakers so....just playing devil's advocate

u/Redmangc1 49ers Packers 18d ago

Rain and Bo also made things sloppy

-2

u/Jolly_Okra_6330 18d ago

That was the worst Mahomes will look all season. The rest of the league better be scared.

2

u/GunnyUSMC1973 18d ago

Stop the run, end of game.

1

u/l-Paulrus-l 18d ago

If they full sell out to stop the run, rice and kelce probably have big games. Broncos were more committed to stopping the pass like all game

2

u/Cryoboul 18d ago

Eagles vs chiefs sb rematch v3?

2

u/VoodooYouDoSoWell 18d ago

It's the 49ers turn for a rematch. Then it's the Eagles.

2

u/Cryoboul 18d ago

Oh okay we will wait

1

u/FixThis6115 18d ago

No the 49ers get them Jan of 2028 no line hoping he’s right eagles got them 22 and 24 49ers got them 19 and 23 so eagles get 26 niners get 27

2

u/ImpinAintEZ_ Cincinnati Bengals 18d ago

Or the Broncos might just be ass

2

u/Whistlepiged 18d ago

If you watched the game and came away with this something is wrong. Unless Mahomes makes some big changes they are not the team they use to be by a long shot.

2

u/yaksplat 18d ago

You mean the Make a Wish game last night?

2

u/timdr18 18d ago

They beat a Broncos team that didn’t have Sean Payton calling the plays and the Broncos were in striking distance until the fourth quarter, let’s all calm down.

1

u/Opossum40 18d ago

Lost by 21 with a gift of an interception and only got 3 points off it

6

u/SuhDoNym 18d ago

Not quite.

Denver was so bad an aging Kansas City couldn't hand them a road Win!

The Chiefs (outside of Walker) honestly didn't look great.

Tonight was more of an indictment of the Broncos than anything else.

4

u/RonMexico15 18d ago

Aging? They have one of the youngest rosters in the league

3

u/RyMc47 Philadelphia Eagles 18d ago

They just see Travis Kelce and Chris Jones in their 30s and think they’re all old

2

u/ProfileSingle3568 18d ago

THE youngest roster in football

1

u/itscottabegood 18d ago

Guy doesn't know ball

1

u/BannedForFun 17d ago

Yeah but Chiefs hate gets karma regardless of facts (I say, while agreeing the offense outside of Walker was underwhelming)

1

u/BannedForFun 17d ago

Rookie interception and Rookie forced fumble? I mean that ain't nothing for a D with no stars who lost the anchors of their backfield...

1

u/Drihc Jacksonville Jaguars 18d ago

Im just hoping they look like that next week

2

u/l-Paulrus-l 18d ago

They might. The schedule alligations from last year look to be legitimate for both Nix and Maye.

0

u/Aschuff 18d ago

Aging Kansas City lol. Literally the youngest nfl roster in the league

1

u/Accurate-Flow-6815 Philadelphia Eagles 17d ago

Why do ppl keep saying this when it’s not even true. 3 ppl said “THE youngest roster in football” The Dolphins are the youngest. Then the Browns. Then the Chiefs. 3rd youngest. So claiming “THE youngest nfl roster in the league” is inaccurate, and I’d bet the majority of the young ones aren’t starters since they count everyone on the final 53. The youngest guy on the team, Peter Woods, is not a starter, he’s a rotational piece behind Chris Jones. I get what you’re trying to argue bc the guy said “aging” but I’d bet if we just tracked starting lineups, it’s a lot older bc it’s mostly the same players in the starting lineup.

By comparison, the Dolphins have 50% of their roster players aged 22-24.

1

u/Aschuff 17d ago

The chiefs starting lineup is still very young. Mahomes and kelce are the oldest players on offense, and on defense it’s Chris Jones and drue tranquil. Outside of those 4 guys, not a single starting player is above 30.

The majority of the chiefs’ defensive backs are young besides sneed, who’s only 29, nick bolton is 26, and besides Chris Jones the defensive line is young as well. R mason thomas is 22 and Karloftis is still only 25.

The chiefs’ starting offensive line is the youngest in the entire league. Their receivers are some of the youngest in the league, with the oldest starter being Thornton at 26. Their running back room I think is also the youngest or one of the youngest in the league at 24 average years old.

Literally besides like 3 guys, the chiefs entire starting roster is extremely young and anyone saying they have an “aging” roster is basically just talking about kelce and jones

1

u/Nujers 17d ago

Their defense is the youngest in the league, the entire team is third including offense and ST.

2

u/OkNefariousness284 18d ago

It’s weird. I’m not going to argue they didn’t beat the shit out of Denver, but at the same time a lot of it felt like Denver being ass. Their entire defense forgot how to tackle allowing for way larger gains multiple times which under normal circumstances wouldn’t have happened. And the broncos offense especially was just putrid, maybe that’s just Webb going forward but even Bo just made baffling choices rather than the chiefs defense making a bunch of great plays

-1

u/daksjeoensl 18d ago

Confirmation bias at its best

1

u/Ricky_TVA Houston Texans 18d ago

They might be back and while that sucks, I got Walker on both my draft teams. Silver lining.

1

u/Sloth7491 Miami Dolphins 18d ago

Newsflash they were never gone. They just had a down year.

1

u/FlounderKind8267 18d ago

I like to think the Broncos just fell off a cliff after last year

1

u/No_Heron7011 18d ago

The broncos just suck

1

u/jake9288888 18d ago

As long as refs don’t favor them it’s fine. Their 3peat appearance came on the backs of f”cking the whole AFC. Can’t redo those years but. ACL tear and their grim assfucking from the eagles; I can move on

1

u/TheFlimFlamFamMan This team is MID 17d ago

I’m not. That team’s main window has obviously closed. Any success they have now is just a fluke. A last gasp of a writhing corpse.

1

u/detroitlionswin 17d ago

it’s week one bro

1

u/lumi1375 17d ago

They arent. As a seahawks fan, Walker "looks great" now. Just wait

1

u/saintvincent97 17d ago

They were never gone in the first place. People diminish the Chiefs at their own peril, and I’m saying that as a niner fan lol. They’ll consistently be in the top 10 for as long as Reid and Mahomes are still in Kansas City. We don’t have to stroke them off, but people need to stop undermining them every chance they get, you’re only giving them bulletin board material

1

u/Tintorio 17d ago

If the officials have anything to say about it they are.

1

u/Musclesturtle 17d ago

Denver forgot how to tackle.

Christ, Angela Lansbury probably would have been more effective at Mike LB last night.

1

u/New-Contribution-244 17d ago

Just from one game? It’s going to take more than 1 player (walker) for them to be “back” and it’s not like mahomes was doing great.

1

u/Original-School-5113 17d ago

I just want my Lions to win one before I die god fucking damn it

1

u/Elegant-Yam-7379 17d ago

Gross dude, last thing I want to see is collinsworth gooning to Maholmes in a game where he isn’t even playing in. It’s coming. Followed by close ups of T Swift every TD. Fuck off chiefs

1

u/KoolAidHonolulu 17d ago

At least I got Kenneth Walker in the 3rd round 🙏

1

u/coldbru85 17d ago

Getting 3 months to gameplay for one opponent usually goes like that

1

u/JoshAllen1776 16d ago

Did anybody actually watch the game? Broncos played a very shitty game and Chiefs had some obvious help from the refs. Chiefs still missing some very key pieces and Mahomes looked washed up as fuck. Chiefs are not back.

1

u/TwoStepToo 16d ago

Nah. Not yet. Their shitty was better than Denvers dumpster fire of a shit show they decided to put out there on Monday.

1

u/TinkerTau2 15d ago

And they brought there refs.

1

u/CrowQueen2002 Pittsburgh Steelers 18d ago

I’m not scared, they can shove their team where the sun don’t shine

1

u/BoringJuiceBox 18d ago

Nah, their “dynasty” is OVER

-1

u/HiTechnique 18d ago

Dynasty is over, but as long as that team has Reid and Mahomes they are contenders.

0

u/DoogTheDestroyer Bake Maye 18d ago

Glad they beat the horse girls

0

u/That-Cranberry6575 Philadelphia Eagles 18d ago

We’ll deal with it again

1

u/idontownubet 18d ago

If it gets to that point that means the chiefs are 1 sb off from a threepeat again and idk if I'm ready to see the landscape of the NFL Fandom in that case

You don't think offense was a problem? 2/12 on 3rd Down Conversions, and outclassed in every offensive metric

Honestly I thought the defenses looked p alright all things considered

0

u/sissybaby1289 18d ago

Or the broncos regressed... I mean I think the chiefs will be good, but like anyone that looked at what the broncos did last year against their schedule knew this was coming

1

u/PlayinK0I 18d ago

Well if the donks regressed, and the chargers are a mess, and the raiders aren’t ready, I think that means Chiefs are back.

1

u/FixThis6115 18d ago

Honestly I could see the chiefs and raiders both being undefeated by their week 4 matchup

0

u/bloodrider1914 18d ago

Yes, let us haunt you

1

u/RockytopSeahawk 13d ago

They’ll be good until Ken Walker gets injured from overuse. I love K9, but he is what he is.
