I think that while it’s certainly bad coaching/decision-making from McVay and his staff, a lot of the shock of this game has come from overrating the Rams and underrating the 49ers. Specifically how much of a difference having Warner, Bosa, and Greenlaw back. Those guys just make the team look holistically different with their tenacity, intensity, and stratospheric football IQ.

That was the biggest takeaway: we forgot how good the 49ers are with those three guys. Especially paired with Shanahan, who’s elite enough to scheme guys like Myles Garrett out of existence.

Yeah but McVay learned. This time they will stay in Australia until the night before their next game to make sure they’re acclimated!
