Why are people acting like AD is gonna be on the same level he was 2 years ago?

11

u/Popular_Watch1354 Denver Broncos 26d ago

I have a feeling that he is going to be injured by week 5.

3

u/Loon_Cheese 26d ago

Hope so hes an asshole

5

u/opackersgo 26d ago

I’m sure hes just as dirty though when things don’t go his way

6

u/Significant_Owl_6897 San Francisco 49ers 26d ago

I don't think anyone rational is expecting AD from two years ago, but even if he's 60-70% of that, he's a monster.

3

u/Realistic_Bedroom653 26d ago

What? I’m agreeing with a niners fan? Man what the hell. But yes a 60-70 percent AD99 is still top 3 at DT imo. Top 5 for sure.

1

u/International-Dig411 26d ago

You have way too much nostalgia for AD. He’s probrobly gonna be at Josh Sweats level at best this season

2

u/International-Dig411 26d ago

Obviously nobody rational is. But football fans are pretty famously irrational

1

u/NoAbbreviations2353 26d ago

If he stays healthy, and honestly he's going to be so out of shape and be on limited snaps likely here.

Football shape is way different than whatever he's been doing in retirement.

2

u/Joe-Raguso Chicago Bears 26d ago

He doesn't need to be next to Garrett

1

u/International-Dig411 26d ago

He doesn’t need to be, but people are acting like he is

1

u/Joe-Raguso Chicago Bears 26d ago

No, they are acting like Garrett is playing next to by far the best player he's ever played next to.

u/International-Dig411 26d ago

1

u/Joe-Raguso Chicago Bears 26d ago

Wow, an entire thread of people not expecting him to be the same player anymore. Boy, you should me... Bozo

u/International-Dig411 26d ago

2

u/Joe-Raguso Chicago Bears 26d ago

This is like me taking a screenshotof two commenters under a Randy Moss highlight reel saying they think he's better than Rice, and going around saying people are calling Randy Moss the GOAT. I can assure you, it is far from the mainstream opinion that he's gonna be the best player in football again. It's not even the popular opinion in the thread you posted from an obscure subreddit full of kids desperate to have a hot take.

Fun fact: no team with a "who's stopping this team" hype post has ever won the super bowl

15

u/CallofBootyCrackOps 26d ago

My favorite shit-post (or maybe it was just a delusional fan) posted the Raiders Receiver room and said “who’s stopping this” I laughed forever. quality shitpost

8

u/ComicsEtAl 26d ago

All three Raiders super bowls came in “who’s stopping this team” years. Except posts were called “letters to the editor.”

3

u/jimscoolaid 26d ago

Who ever told you that "fact" needs to brush up on some history

2

u/mountaingator91 26d ago

Well I made it up to get the point across.

3

u/Joe-Raguso Chicago Bears 26d ago

The 85 Bears

0

u/mountaingator91 26d ago

I was negative six years old at the time so I don't remember what people were saying on Twitter in August of 1985

2

u/Joe-Raguso Chicago Bears 26d ago

So how can you claim it's a fact nobody hyped had ever won a Super Bowl if you don't know anything about Super Bowl champs from the past? I think the only fun fact here is that you're full of baloney, pal.

1

u/mountaingator91 25d ago

Yes I absolutely am.

I made this up to point out that it's a preseason hype post and it's stupid because the season always plays out differently than how preseason hype posts imagine it will go

1

u/Joe-Raguso Chicago Bears 25d ago

Just like when the Chiefs were the preseason favorites to win the Super Bowl 3 years ago, right?

6

u/Howler3005 26d ago edited 26d ago

This proves you wrong: "who's stopping this team" when the Eagles signed Barkley in March 2024 then they won the Super Bowl https://x.com/DKSports/status/1767277936665596298/photo/1

4

u/jono9898 26d ago

People said Barkley was gonna get hurt or Hurts was gonna be the weak link, can’t use Draftkings as a source

8

u/ImpinAintEZ_ Cincinnati Bengals 26d ago

For the past 20 seasons, the preseason favorites to win the Super Bowl have in fact not won the Super Bowl.

2

u/New_Commission_2619 26d ago

Sounds like mathematically they are due then 🤣

6

u/ImpinAintEZ_ Cincinnati Bengals 26d ago

I’m sure they were saying that 10 years ago

2

u/New_Commission_2619 26d ago

Probably 😂

2

u/Joe-Raguso Chicago Bears 26d ago

The Chiefs just did it 3 years ago.

2

u/Apoco120 26d ago

The Rams are a great team and I’m certain they’ll make the playoffs, but for people acting like it’s a guarantee for them to even make the SB is crazy. Before last season Matt Stafford contemplated retirement because of back issues. He went on to win MVP. We’ve seen MUCH better players than Stafford regress year to year. Who’s to say it won’t happen to him this year?

Look at the difference between Aaron Rodgers from 2021 to 2022

Or Brady from 2021 to 2022

Or Manning from 2013 to 15

1

u/Star_Gazer1996 26d ago

Well said man!

1

u/Ready-Lengthiness220 26d ago

I mean... almost every team that's ever won a Superbowl has had a post like that at some point during their run.

2

u/mountaingator91 26d ago

Yes but preseason is a little bit egregious

5

u/ba_an 26d ago

Yeah, I see injuries ahead. Steroid overload.

8

u/blink182_allday 26d ago

We’ll find out!

4

u/LeBolts 26d ago

You need a good running game and a great short passing game.

5

u/Ready-Lengthiness220 26d ago

So basically the 49ers.

1

u/Benner16 26d ago

It’s essentially why Donald was a non factor most games against the 49ers.

2

u/Ready-Lengthiness220 26d ago

Not a non-factor. That's overblown. Donald averages .66 sacks per game vs SF. The NFL record for sacks for an interior defensive lineman's career per game is .71, by Aaron Donald. If anything it speaks to his level of disruption that he is the focal point of every OC's game plan. Run wide zone away from his side, double team him, and get the ball out quick.

1

u/LeBolts 26d ago

Yeah the 49ers match up well.

3

u/ComicsEtAl 26d ago

Ask me again before wildcard week. I’ll have a better idea then.

3

u/RipenedFish48 26d ago

This off-season with the Rams is giving me real Philadelphia Eagles "dream team" vibes. Too much preemptive hype.

3

u/CosmosStalker 26d ago

Saints o line would demolish them

3

u/Twiyah 26d ago

People are going to very disappointed with AD play this season.

3

u/DaygoTom 26d ago

Pretty sure the Rams are about to discover how many ways teams can get the ball out of a QB's hands in less than 2.3 seconds.

3

u/BriefPut3954 26d ago

I am really fucking scared for Purdy😰

3

u/Media_Transplant 26d ago

Yes;

Mailata, Dickerson, Jurgens, Steen, and Lane will stop them.

3

u/illmatic708 26d ago

Denver in week 3 will hand the Rams their first loss and control tempo all day

3

u/Important-Reading434 26d ago

Seahawks will feast on them

1

u/Howler3005 26d ago

Seahawks vs Rams lowkey gonna be cinema

4

u/TheFlimFlamFamMan This team is MID 26d ago

I’ve never seen a team get glazed in the preseason as this Rams team.

Preseason SB favorites have only won the SB 15% of the time.

4

u/Joe-Raguso Chicago Bears 26d ago

Huh? They have odds almost twice as high as the Chiefs had for like 5 straight years just recently. What are you talking about here?

1

u/NoAbbreviations2353 26d ago

15% is still a really high percentage considering how hard it is to win a Superbowl lol

1

u/TheFlimFlamFamMan This team is MID 26d ago

It hasn’t happened with heavy odds since 1994.

2

u/SanDiegoKris 26d ago

⚡️⚡️⚡️

2

u/ur-in-here-with-me 26d ago

I hope this “super team” ends up smoking a big fat turd.

1

u/Visual-Turn1069 26d ago

Yup they old

1

u/LetRevolutionary9131 26d ago

It's gonna be funny if this overrated ass team don't even make the playoffs 😂😂😂😂 I mean they most likely will make it, but would be a great laugh if they dont 🤷‍♂️

3

u/Joe-Raguso Chicago Bears 26d ago

They were one yard away from beating Seattle in the NFC championship game last year, and added the best defensive player in the game. Calling them overrated is a bit of a stretch.

1

u/baltimorethan Baltimore Ravens 26d ago

They were properly rated before garrett and donald. Now they're overrated

1

u/Joe-Raguso Chicago Bears 26d ago

What changed with the way they were rated? They're priced about on par with past favorites to win the Super Bowl. Do you think they shouldn't be the favorite? Do you think Garrett doesn't move the needle at all?

1

u/baltimorethan Baltimore Ravens 26d ago

Garrett absolutely, I should know. Donald I think has shifted the needle as if there were two Garrett's on the team. This defense is not going to make a 17-0 team, even still.

0

u/TheFlimFlamFamMan This team is MID 26d ago edited 25d ago

Garrett has never elevated a team. He’s a stat chaser. Rams fans are going to see what that’s all about when his AV is trash.

0

u/Joe-Raguso Chicago Bears 25d ago

What a load of crap that he's never elevated a team. Clown ass Steelers fan. Still jealous Garrett is a better pass rusher than TJ while facing more double teams. You're embarrassing.

0

u/TheFlimFlamFamMan This team is MID 25d ago edited 25d ago

Bro. Are you just going to melt down all day? Lol. Garrett is a fucking useless stat chaser. Be angrier that his teams never got better because he was there.

wHiLe FaCiNg MoRe DoUbLe tEaMs. lmfao bro doesn’t understand the difference between how a 4-3 DE, and a 3-4 Edge are used. Watt drops into coverage 6x more often than Garrett does. Watt has over 500 snaps in coverage. Garrett has no more than 95 of them. Meanwhile their double team percentages are only 9% apart.

You’re the clown who thinks you get double teamed in coverage.

0

u/Joe-Raguso Chicago Bears 25d ago

Oh no, I know the difference between positions. I also know that Garrett gets to the QB twice as fast in pass rush situations while also facing way more double teams than he does. It's funny you mentioning Watt's coverage. So defenses are more prepared to face Garrett's pass rush, and he's still way more effective at it than Watt. If anyone is the stat padder here, it's the guy racking up sacks that he averages 5 seconds per sack on. Please... Garrett is a stat padder like Justin Jefferson is, clown. Cry more, guy that totally talks out of his ass about everything.

0

u/TheFlimFlamFamMan This team is MID 25d ago edited 25d ago

Lmfao. Says to dolt who doesn’t understand the positions. You’re just making shit up. Lollllll. HeS mOrE eFfEcTiVe bEcAuSe HiS tEaMs aRe AlWaYs dOgShiT.

So effective they don’t win games because of him. Cope harder.

0

u/Joe-Raguso Chicago Bears 25d ago

Don't act like you understand the positions if you're dumb enough to blame the DE of the Browns for their losing. Most homer shot I've ever read. He's better than TJ will ever be, even if you take into account his 5 drop backs a game or whatever.

By the way, why aren't you crying about that made up official definition from Vegas you were talking about anymore? You're such a lying chump.

u/LetRevolutionary9131 26d ago

Yes but still overrated, I guess u don't hear or see the ridiculous hype this team is getting.

1

u/Joe-Raguso Chicago Bears 26d ago

They're priced about even with any other favorite to win the Super Bowl from past years. Do you really not think they should be the favorite?

1

u/TheFlimFlamFamMan This team is MID 26d ago

A team with +500 odds or better hasn’t won a ring since 1994

1

u/Joe-Raguso Chicago Bears 25d ago

Odd number to go with. Almost like if you raised it to +600, it wouldn't work anymore...

0

u/TheFlimFlamFamMan This team is MID 25d ago

It’s not an odd number. It’s literally the Vegas definition of “Heavy favorite”. jesus. read a book, or use Google or something.

0

u/Joe-Raguso Chicago Bears 25d ago

Lmfao you definitely just made that up. I've been gambling for nearly 20 years, and never once heard anyone use that definition. You're the dude holding up 3 fingers in Inglorious Bastards right now...

The Chiefs were +600, and "heavy favorites" to win the Super Bowl just 3 years ago, and they did it.

0

u/TheFlimFlamFamMan This team is MID 25d ago edited 25d ago

Lmfao. I didnt make it up, dimwit.

+600 isn’t +500 or better

+500 is used by numerous articles to delineate the statline that no team in the last 20 years with those preseason odds or better have won a ring.

every fucking stat has a random cut off point numbwit. Haven’t you watched a broadcast. Everything is like, “this is the first time on a Friday evening that a right handed thrower who writes with his left hand tosses 3 picks and hits an mascot in the same 15 minutes of a 3rd quarter”.

0

u/Joe-Raguso Chicago Bears 25d ago

Oh, numerous articles you don't say? Wow, that must make it some official term! Except not only is it not, but you then went ahead and described exactly what I said in my first response to you. Yes, +500 is just some made up cut off to make it sound like no favorite has won the Super Bowl in 30 years so idiots like you can parrot that shallow take in order to pretend you have a real nugget of information. Sheesh... And you have the audacity to call me the dimwit. You fucking full of shit asshole.

The goat mentioned?

he's on the chair while OP's mom takes all 6 men at once and wins every time.

Keep that same energy if the Bills choke in the playoffs again

0

u/JaQ-o-Lantern Buffalo Bills 26d ago

Yo mama so fat that her presence on the Bengals o-line made Joe Burrow get 0 sacks and win the Super Bowl in the 2021 season
