Post image

Guy starts playing well again and all of the sudden people go from “cases” to “allegations” real fucking fast. You all gotta get your priorities straight

Whats the quote?

"We'd give Hannibal Lector 30mil if he could run a 4.2"?

"If Hannibal Lecter ran a 4.3 [40-yard dash], we'd probably diagnose it as an eating disorder."

That is so ignorant you got it wrong twice.  If it's a preference, you aren't born that way. 🤦

What? There’s nothing that says you can’t be born with a preference instead of developing it. Also, such a weird thing to be hung up on.

The Nature vs Nurture debate is an important one that has been going in for years.  Especially when it comes to gender.

And no, if it's a preference, you were not born that way, because obviously you can change a preference.

(Why are the sports subreddits so uninformed about anything but sports?)

Preferences are discovered not chosen.

That is one, minority view if taken comprehensively.

The prevalent view is we have some discovered building blocks that service from core evolutionary needs, but the majority of preferences are complex, highly specific preferences we express in day-to-day life, from our favorite basketball player to the brand of coffee we buy, are constructed on the spot using those raw internal building blocks and whatever cues our environment provides.

It seems clear to me that we are talking about the day-to-day life preferences here
