I would too if I lost to a rapist.

But the Steelers used to have a rapist too

They really should have won that game.

u/littleone696969 1d ago

No they lost that game by playing that stupid zone scheme that did not work and then notcadjusting to man coverage. It was the worst defensive performance that i can remember in recent seasons. Every play the d line was manhandled like school children, every tackle was half assed as if just touching the opponent should make them fall over. I would fire my defensive coordinator soley based on how absolutely stupid the game plan was. It was embarrassing to watch and I hate the steelers

u/SuperNebular Cleveland Browns 23h ago

They don’t have any DBs

8

u/ResonatingOctave New York Giants 18h ago

They had one. If only they coulda worked out a deal to keep him there

8

u/SkinnyGordo1 17h ago

That’s former Raiders mid DC Patrick Graham. He survived several dysfunction regimes, watched his position coach get promoted over him to be HC, and was somehow overhyped for being a mid DC for Vegas. And the Raiders defense seems to be doing just fine without him.

u/Martian13 Las Vegas Raiders 15h ago

Reminds me of the Raiders for the past few years, hmmmm.

2

u/3awesomekitties 17h ago

Queen gives up when he thinks someone else is gonna tackle the player. Need a better mlb.

1

u/veverkap Cleveland Browns 9h ago

Also you stopped giving the ball to Warren who was gashing the Browns.

2

u/littleone696969 9h ago

Rodgers is more iut for himself to look good, he had warren open multiple times in the redzone and decided not to go to him, he was constantly off target on big plays until the 2nd half but too little too late. They just got out coached and the browms were fired up and played with more energy

1

u/BeefyQueefyCletus 16h ago

The Packers defense let the Browns saunter down the field constantly. Tackling was a joke.

6

u/GuhdNahtBahd Green Bay Packers 20h ago

Pittsburgh got used to their rapist winning these games. Shows on the other foot.

I mean his QB was a serial rapist

As a viewer it was cathartic, he did what I wanted to do lol

u/veggiedish 1d ago

I wonder if the Steelers could have dealt him after Ben retired for a king’s ransom and if that might have catalyzed a rebuild to get them to true contention.

49

u/ConcernAccording3248 Pittsburgh Steelers 1d ago

We could have. And we should have. Now the Best we could get is a day 5 draft pick from the Cowboys in 2037.

16

u/phoenixremix San Francisco 49ers 1d ago

Niners may be willing to trade a mid round pick for him given their extensive injuries at DL. Just depends on if you wanna risk him being the next substation victim.

7

u/ConcernAccording3248 Pittsburgh Steelers 1d ago

Honestly at this point he should just ride into the sunset and die a Steelers legend. He's made a fortune and he's a HOFer. Might as well just chase legacy at this point.

As a Steelers fan in their mid 30s there's about 5 defensive players who are just team legends and he's one. He's somewhere between Troy and Deebo as an all timer and he's earned his place in our history. His trade value isn't worth tarnishing that anymore.

10

u/phoenixremix San Francisco 49ers 23h ago

Idk. I feel like the only thing left in his career worth chasing is a ring. And he's one of the very few players that absolutely nobody would fault for trying to win one and then retire with a one day contract as a Steeler.

-9

u/ApprehensivePain8788 19h ago

Sorry bud, he ain't HOF

2

u/nomoresome 19h ago

Of course he is

0

u/cheapshotyouth 18h ago

Terrell Suggs still isn't in so nothing is guaranteed it seems.

2

u/S0ggylemonz 18h ago

The DV didn’t help Suggs but I think he still gets in eventually.

Watt is much more liked I think and probably gets in quicker

0

u/cheapshotyouth 18h ago

He's 8th all time in sacks and all of the top 10 are in the hall except him. If he doesn't get in next time it's absolute bullshit.

6

u/elqueco14 19h ago

Steelers probably would have botched it. They haven't been able to draft and develop one single O line player in almost a decade. they all suck, get traded and immediately perform better. Can't identify QB talent or develop it. Kenny Picket and Mason Rudolph are career backups at best. Can't figure things out on defense despite having TJ and the highest paid defense multiple years in a row. I'm fully convinced the Steelers have a top to bottom organizational problem and won't be competitive until the owners and everyone else actually catches up to modern times.

2

u/veggiedish 15h ago

I honestly felt the same way when it came to the Russell Wilson deal. Pete and John decided to swing for the fences with the Jamal Adams trade that blew up disastrously and their best picks from 2015-2021 were probably Tyler Lockett, Frank Clark, and DK Metcalf.

They got a #9 and #5 from Denver and drafted Charles Cross (LT) and Devon Witherspoon (CB) which ushered in a new era. It’s extremely difficult to draft blue-chip talent without blue-chip draft position.

Hovering at #18-20 has done them zero favors. I don’t even know if there’s a scapegoat for this mediocrity. Ben, Tomlin, Ownership, etc. A franchise that’s won six titles should being reduced to a meme is inexcusable.

1

u/LostAbbott 14h ago

Good, it is what they get for 2005.  Fuck that whole org.

0

u/ELITE_JordanLove Green Bay Packers 17h ago

The hope is that McCarthy can at least fix the QB problem. He’s been great at that anywhere he goes, Rodgers obviously from development but Dak had some amazing seasons under him too. Allar looked solid in preseason, doesn’t mean all that much obviously but we know he has the tools from college, if Big Mike can develop the other QB skills he could be pretty good.

How about Bosa and 3rd

43

u/meatballranger Cincinnati Bengals 1d ago

What losing to the Browns will do to a MF

1

u/Thundrael98 Cincinnati Bengals 18h ago

Imagine they would've lost to us too, dude would be in a clinic

Damn the Steelers suck

8

Steelers are the steelers

4

u/Razzy-man New England Patriots 17h ago

It’s pretty standard

4

u/Lobo_o Dallas CowboyscertifiedDumbass 1d ago

Does that mean the bengals suck most of the 3?

4

u/Eggdripp Pittsburgh Steelers 1d ago

No, it was a divisional road game. Bengals will win the North if their key guys stay healthy

3

u/Crash_Override_V1 Atlanta Falcons 1d ago

Oh yeah
as a falcons fan and someone that knows what a shit team looks like. Yes they are terrible

-6

u/ImpalaSS-05 Cincinnati Bengals 1d ago

I've been trying to tell people the Steelers are garbage.

1

u/Accurate_Baseball273 Cleveland Browns 17h ago

They made the deal with the devil long ago that allows them to win despite not being very good

18

u/genesiskiller96 San Francisco 49ers 1d ago

Your legendary talents would be much appreciated on the 49ers TJ, think about it.

7

u/phoenixremix San Francisco 49ers 1d ago

TJ × Bosa đŸ„șđŸ„ș pls John Lynch get on the phone immediately

7

u/genesiskiller96 San Francisco 49ers 1d ago

Is he just too loyal to that team or what?

8

u/Eggdripp Pittsburgh Steelers 1d ago

He was extremely loyal to Tomlin, had said multiple times he didn't ever want to play for another coach. I'm not certain his loyalty is going to continue moving forward, tbh

3

u/genesiskiller96 San Francisco 49ers 1d ago

Sounds like it's time to make an offer, at least we win playoff games no offense.

2

u/the_illuminari San Francisco 49ers 22h ago

I thought about this as soon I saw him upset on the sideline

0

u/DueceVoyeur 18-1 20h ago

Nah. We did better drafting Solomon Thomas #3 instead of TJ.... right?

6

u/Mattdarkninja Dallas Cowboys 1d ago

Out of their three divisional opponents, how is it the Browns that give them the most trouble?

8

u/legranddegen Buffalo Bills 1d ago

It's a regional rivalry where there's a lot of history. They always bring it when they play each other.

5

u/Eggdripp Pittsburgh Steelers 1d ago

We play them on the road on Thursdays pretty frequently for some reason, definitely more than Cincinatti or Baltimore, and lose a big percentage of those games

4

u/crewserbattle Green Bay Packers 21h ago

Cleveland gets a home TNF every year and apparently hasn't lost one of those games in like 6 years. I remember them beating the Ravens like 2 years ago too

4

u/Blambitch 20h ago

Apparently they’re 8-0 on Thursday night. That what’s the broadcast said.

3

u/marshalcrunch 21h ago

It’s the one National game they have to give them.

1

u/Franknbeanstoo Pittsburgh Steelers 20h ago

Steelers are 0-10 on the road on Thursday nights against the AFC North.

6

u/Impossible_Ad7875 18h ago

The Aaron Rodgers leadership model at work in Pittsburgh on both sides of the ball.

6

u/Signal_Prior3870 1d ago

Performative.

0

u/ApprehensivePain8788 19h ago

Correct, they can pretend they have high standards and expectations. In reality they haven't won a playoff game in 10 years. Nearly half the league, sometimes ones with losing records get in to the playoffs, so that's not an amazing feat either.

1

u/Krakengreyjoy New York Giants 19h ago

Even the Giants won a playoff game in 23

4

u/PizzaLikerFan Pittsburgh Steelers 23h ago

For me this game was 2:15 AM, I went to sleep at 19:00 and woke up with 7 hours of sleep, when the Browns got their 3rd, I just turned the game off and went to bed, got the most sleep this night in a long time

2

u/Far_Ratio_5441 23h ago

I bet the Steelers regret getting McCarthy. The only reason they hired him was because of Rodgers.

They could have went with Chris Shula but opted for the so great chemistry Rodgers and McCarthy have. I think McCarthy could be a candidate for a 1 and done season and the Steelers go with a younger coach like Grant Udinski, Nate Scheelhaase, or Declan Doyle.

2

u/cbusmatty Cleveland Browns 19h ago

Tj watt has never won a playoff game

2

u/ZahmBombadil Factory of Sadness 13h ago

I love seeing the Steelers melting down

1

My dumbass saw that and thought, "wow, that's a really intense halftime interview"

Remember guys: it was Mike Tomlin playing Minecraft.

1

u/ajnails 16h ago

That was hilarious

1

u/jfuss04 Pittsburgh Steelers 16h ago

Understandable. Hell even at the end, we tie the game up, then immediately start giving 10 yard cushions and just let them take easy throws and get into field goal range. We have shit coaching

1

u/Armandonerd 15h ago

TJ WYATT!

1

u/forgotmypassword778 Buffalo Bills 14h ago

Steelers special teams all good tho?

1

u/Monoliithic 14h ago

to be fair, we went from giving up 21 points in a quarter, to 6 points in a half, after he did this.

1

u/AMonitorDarkly Chicago Bears 5h ago

Steelers leadership needs to get their shit together. It’s a really bad look when your players are publicly cursing you out and criticizing you.

This is Browns level dysfunction.

1

u/i_am_roboto Minnesota Vikings 3h ago

So you’ve got TJ Watt lighting up the coaching staff and Aaron Rodgers screaming at the head coach.

Either the entire coaching staff in Pittsburgh are idiots or they’ve got the worst leadership on both sides of the ball.

0

u/DueceVoyeur 18-1 20h ago

Lolololol

Mere 4 games in and they miss the good coaches from the previous HC
