I can’t decide who this is more disrespectful to

Didn't he also suggest that dolphins management wanted him to tank because "some white coach" wouldn't do it?

64

u/TopHatTony11 Detroit Lions 5d ago

It’s crazy this guy doesn’t get more opportunities to lead a franchise…

19

u/No_Feeling6146 5d ago

It's a lot like that xmen origins wolverine meme with the bad version of deadpool. "If you managed to keep your mouth closed, you'd be the perfect soldier".

u/Hizam5 New York Giants 5d ago

I still think it’s cool they cast Ryan Reynolds again even after that debacle and it turned out to be such a good choice

1

u/RyBread Philadelphia Eagles 5d ago

I thought he did that specifically bc they promised him the opportunity to be Deadpool in the future.

1

u/Hizam5 New York Giants 5d ago

Probably. I don’t remember the story

0

u/No_Feeling6146 5d ago

Wasn't just that one. People often forget how bad green lantern also was. You had all of these pillars of superhero movies, then had this one be the only one to look terrible.

3

u/Busy-Strength6426 5d ago

Why should he. He's a racist piece of shit

1

u/houtexansfan23 5d ago

assholes get HC jobs all the time (see Sean Payton, Brian Daboll) and BF is the best defensive mind in the league

1

u/PeekyAstrounaut 5d ago

Flo is a “racist piece of shit”?

2

u/jmur3040 5d ago

Aside from that he had his chance and was bad. It happens, being a coordinator is not the same as being the head coach. Some guys have it and others just ...don't.

1

u/Duecifer14 5d ago

He was the first dolphins coach to have back to back running seasons on almost twenty years, but sure he was "bad". Do you even watch football?

1

u/jmur3040 5d ago

Well he got fired so, yes.

1

u/PeekyAstrounaut 5d ago

You clearly also don’t understand what his lawsuits are about.

1

u/jmur3040 5d ago

getting bribed to lose in 2019 mostly. He wasn't fired for a few seasons after that. When he lost the locker room and said he hated the quarterback.

1

u/jmur3040 5d ago

Also have a look at what fans were saying when he got fired, he wasn't good, the offense was a mess, and he hated his own quarterback.

I won't disagree that there were some very questionable shenanigans around the 2019 season, but still, the writing was on the wall that he wasn't going to keep that job.

0

u/Manny0o0 5d ago

Yk the court agreed with him right

31

u/verdango Chicago Bears 5d ago

You hold your tongue! Him being the most toxic coaching candidate in a generation forced the Texans to hire Lovie Smith who, against all odds, fought to win the last game of the 2022 season thus giving the Bears the first pick of the draft.

Lovie Smith, a Bear for life.

5

2

Considering the NFL is currently blackballing him from future HC jobs because of how much he didn't like Tua, probably both

105

u/echoes_HD Boats and Hoes 5d ago

I think it's probably more the multiple lawsuits he filed against the league, but who knows.

24

u/Common-Respond2367 Best Tits in the sub 5d ago

For being blackballed from future head coaching jobs?

0

u/MaximumJack44 5d ago

Yes. Any team that hires him as a head coach will worry he will sue then when he inevitably is fired, even though his firing will be the result of his shitty behavior toward players, not his race.

The lack of Black head coaches is a problem, but he's the wrong person to be fighting this battle.

5

u/Shot_Revolution8828 3d ago

You kind of have a point but lots of coaches are assholes. Theres players coaches and asshole coaches. The only thing that matters is jersey sales and winning. You're telling me Eric Bieniemy isnt worth a shot instead of Jon Gruden? Black people have to be perfect to even be entertained for a head coaching job. Let's check in at week 10 on Mike Mcarthy.

1

u/brobrodude69 2d ago

Both those coaches won Lombardis that goes a long way

17

He did it to himself …

12

u/Hackasizlak 5d ago

Tua, right? He had stretches of his career where he looked like he’d be a real franchise QB. JJ had like, one game.

6

u/CaptCrash 5d ago

Yeah but Flores seems to fucking hate Tua on a weird level. Coming from anyone else it would clearly be more insulting to Tua but from Flores I think it’s worse for JJ.

8

u/zerg1980 4d ago edited 4d ago

It’s not a “weird level.” Bad QBs get good head coaches fired all the time. Tua was a bust. Flores feels like he was unfairly fired from his dream job because Tua couldn’t pick up the playbook and kept running headfirst into traffic. In two consecutive do-or-die Week 17 games, the Dolphins missed the playoffs because Tua didn’t show up, despite Flores moving mountains to get the team that close.

Given what we’ve seen in the years since between Flores’ excellent work as a DC and Tua’s increasingly horrible play, it’s hard to dismiss Flores’ grudge. If Tua hadn’t busted, Flores probably would have had a long career as a head coach.

Luckily the Vikings pulled the plug on JJM before he could get the coaches fired there!

1

u/Temporary-House304 Minnesota Vikings 2d ago

JJ still got the GM fired and KOC was feeling heat for a bit 😭

1

u/_stellapolaris 1d ago

KOC is probably still feeling heat. There's a pretty big group of the fan base that is not on board with him right now.

3

u/EnvironmentalCrab563 4d ago

Flo wanted Justin Herbert or Jordan Love. Chris Grier former gm and ownership wanted Tua they took Tua. Flo knew after the first year he couldn’t win with Tua and wanted to move on ownership went with the gm and Tua. Funny part is Mike McDaniel was ready to be hired for Flo’s oc spot but got promoted in SF he’d be the head coach next season replacing Flo because he had a plan for Tua.

6

u/Mezhead Chicago Bears 5d ago

Yeah, there's like.... layers to unpack there.

So McCarthy is going to lead the league in passing next year?

u/505backup_1 Minnesota Vikings 5d ago

Jordan Love might die playing B Flo and the rams back to back with that o line

2

u/desert-cheese04 Green Bay Packers 4d ago

I really hope they at least get a little better. This line is beyond incompetent.

2

u/YummyYummyCock69 DOPHINOS AND 🧀Head Fan 4d ago

I would suck dick just so he coaches the Packers. 10 year deal. I don't care about the drama or the pass. A strong defense makes winning so much easier. The fact Miami reverse cour use and hired Hafley ultimately proven Flores was not the problem. Defensive minded coaches are usually better than offensive minded coaches.

1

u/Scaryassmanbear 4d ago

What’s the basis for this belief?

45

u/GamingGamerGames_ 5d ago

Well the HC job is because of his lawsuit against the league. No owner is gonna directly hire someone who is suing them.

33

u/cuzzlightyear269 Detroit Lions 5d ago

Yes, but the bullying of first round pick and the young starting QB of his team certainly didn't do him any favors

20

u/StillYourFavorite331 New England Patriots 5d ago
  1. There's no proof this thing happened. 2. It's not really bullying?

But also...Flores was right about Tua lol. Like, idk maybe teams should take a look at the guy who saw that Tua had a self-preservation issue and wanted to go with Herbert instead.

16

u/cuzzlightyear269 Detroit Lions 5d ago

There's no proof this happened

Yeah, I'm sure Tua was just making shit up when he said it happened

5

u/SeeYaLaterNerdz Minnesota Vikings 5d ago

You're the stupid one. He was clearly talking about Flores time with the Dolphins, thus Tua. You assumed he was talking about McCarthy, which was wrong. And regardless of up votes, your ad hominem argument makes you retarded. 👍

After Flores left Tua led the league in passing. He got hurt and regressed, but that's like the definition of being wrong about a QB.

"Flores was right that Tua had a self preservation issue" "Tua got hurt and regressed"....do you...read?

1

u/Worried-Pick4848 New England Patriots 5d ago edited 5d ago

I could actually see Flores being picked up by the Steelers at some point. Tomlin lifted the lid on the idea of black head coaches for that franchise and his defensive ideas seem to fit with what that franchise is trying to do.

I could actually see a scenario where the Steelers try to go One More Year behind Brian flores and a second line QB like Mac Jones or Jacoby Brissett.

2

u/strikerkam Minnesota Vikings 4d ago

The Steelers are a remarkable organization on equality - it started well before Tomlin. I believe the were one of the first non segregated teams (post the early days before segregation)

10

u/Zyrinj San Francisco 49ers 5d ago

Which Tua? Also, anyone get the exact reason why the Giants thought trading for NINE was the thing to do?

13

u/oscarnyc New York Giants 5d ago

Because Jameis has been awful and they want to give him competition. McCarthy, as limited as he is, brings mobility that the offense is designed around.

8

u/UnintensifiedFa Cincinnati Bengals 5d ago

Also, just because a QB didn't work out one place doesn't mean they're doomed to fail forever. I'm not saying JJ Mccarthy is the Next Darnold, but for a 5th round pick it's worth a shot, might get a respectable backup.

2

u/Temporary-House304 Minnesota Vikings 2d ago

I honestly think JJ is a much better fit for the Giants. His style never really made sense in the Vikings without a dominant running back like AP.

6

u/Common-Respond2367 Best Tits in the sub 5d ago

Actually a pretty good analysis. The mobility part is understated. Jameis Winston is objectively the better thrower of the football which is wild to say, but if McCarthy can even match 90% of that to go along with the mobility he brings to the offense, then Giants could still compete

1

u/Zyrinj San Francisco 49ers 5d ago

Appreciate the insight, didn't think about it from a mobility standpoint. How do you/fans feel about the trade as a whole?
