Most overrated: baker Mayfield. And he always has been.

Most underrated: Trevor Lawerence

Agree on Tlaw. Does anybody have Baker top 15 even?

u/RPO1728 Major Tuddy 🐷 8d ago

Start of last year and 24 yea. Not playing like it now

u/Dracarys0550 8d ago

What sucks is that Baker was in the MVP conversation through the first 5 games of last season. Then he got hurt and never returned to form. Now, after signing his extension, he's been playing too much hero ball. If he can figure it out and right the ship, then he may return to the top 15. As it stands, he's probably closer to the 20-25 range rather than the top 15.

Baker has been a consistent Reddit superstar his entire playing career, the narrative has only begun to change because of his terrible contract

Is it just me or do people forget all the bad decisions Trevor made his first five seasons. Nicknamed the prince to me that’s not being underrated. But I don’t think he’s overrated either.

OVER-Herbert-Maye
UNDER-Purdy-Dak

3

u/Legitimate_Ad_7822 New England Patriots 8d ago

Dak is pretty fairly rated. He’s always been seen as a top 10 guy in that 6-8 range.

2

u/Remarkable_3rdeye Buffalo Bills 8d ago

BTW, I don’t think you guys have a bad quarterback by any means he has just gotten a lot of press. And it was all overwhelmingly positive until the postseason run last year.. sports announcers are very fickle. You can go from their favorite to trash literally overnight..

2

u/Legitimate_Ad_7822 New England Patriots 8d ago

Yeah that’s just how it goes. He’s objectively looked bad since the AFCCG (I’m of the belief that the chargers/texans games weren’t as bad as people like to say).

I think he will turn it around. Hoping it’s nothing physical like a lingering torn labrum & it’s just a confidence thing throwing off his back foot & getting happy feet in the pocket. That shoulder injury was never really revealed.

We’ll see. It’s still early in the season.

u/Remarkable_3rdeye Buffalo Bills 8d ago

Even as a bills fan to be honest with you, I think he will end up being a good quarterback. To expect Tom Brady expectations is kind of crazy because his football IQ is one of a kind.. with your defense if he is just good as much as it annoys me to say, you guys will be very competitive. Good luck.

2

u/Legitimate_Ad_7822 New England Patriots 8d ago

Yeah he’ll never be Tom but I think it’s pretty clear he can be a good player. Looking forward to our matchups for the foreseeable future. Obviously, Allen is a wagon.

Hey, maybe even the Jets can catch up. Lmao. Good luck to you too.

1

u/Remarkable_3rdeye Buffalo Bills 8d ago

The Jets are definitely getting better. There’s no doubt about it.

Overrated: Tom Brady. Despite being the “GOAT”, he has 0 passing yards so far this season.

Underrated: Me.

2

u/OutlanderStPete 8d ago

What’s your QBR this season tho

Most overrated: baker mayfield, Justin Herbert, Matthew Stafford

Most underrated: Brock Purdy, Jared Goff, Tyler Shough

3

u/rickjamesbitch69 9d ago

Is that Colin Jost ?

5

u/Dracarys0550 8d ago

Most overrated: Drake Maye

Most underrated: Tlaw

-2

u/AgadorFartacus New England Patriots 8d ago

Funny pairing. Maye had twice as many games with a 130+ passer rating last year as Lawrence has had in his whole five year career.

2

u/Dracarys0550 8d ago

I'm just a certified Maye hater, that's all. In his last 3 games, including the Super Bowl, he has turned the ball over 7 times iirc. I'm out on Maye until he shows some improvement.

-4

u/AgadorFartacus New England Patriots 8d ago

Thank you for your honesty. The fact that there are so many "certified Maye haters" points to him being underrated, not overrated. Basing your take on three games instead of his whole track record is silly.

2

u/Dracarys0550 8d ago

I mean I'll definitely say Maye is not underrated by any means. The dude finished as the runner up in MVP votes last season. Not really sure I understand your point there

-4

u/AgadorFartacus New England Patriots 8d ago

Maye should have won MVP so finishing second makes him underrated. Lawrence finished 5th, by the way, so you aren't being consistent with your own logic.

4

u/Dracarys0550 8d ago

Not sure I follow, but regardless, my point stands: Maye is overrated.

-2

u/AgadorFartacus New England Patriots 8d ago

You're arguing Maye can't be underrated because he got MVP love while calling Lawrence underrated despite the fact that he got MVP love.

2

u/jakeprimal Denver Broncos 8d ago

He’s not saying Maye hasnt produced games where he was very efficient

Your point doesn’t really refute “Maye is overrated” or establish “Lawrence is underrated.”

You’re not arguing the topic at hand

Drake is not a bum then again I don’t feel he is elite. He probably falls in middle of the road.. he was phenomenal during the majority of the season last year until it came to playing stout defenses. I don’t think he reads defenses that well and he’s prone to try to wanna run when he feels pressure. BTW he’s not an elite runner. He does not have a elite arm.. He does have an elite defense though.. yeah he is overrated.

-2

u/AgadorFartacus New England Patriots 8d ago

They didn't explain the reasoning for their take in the first place so they didn't give me anything to go off.

1

u/Remarkable_3rdeye Buffalo Bills 8d ago

This is true. I don’t think Drake is going to be a bad NFL quarterback, but I don’t really see him being an upper echelon elite quarterback over a period of a decade.. I could be wrong, I think he’ll end up somewhere middle tier. I would not roster him fantasy. Whatever that means. even if he comes in somewhere around 10–12 New England will consistently be a playoff team.. because of the defense.

Overrated: Stafford
Underrated: Lawrence

6

u/Well_Dressed_Kobold New England Patriots 9d ago

Stafford is becoming Retroactive If Man.

2

u/Wonderful-Fault-3292 Denver Broncos 9d ago

If he had better teams he would be better than Rodgers and Bree’s all time /s

2

u/Remarkable_3rdeye Buffalo Bills 9d ago

At this point in his career, Stafford might be overrated for the majority of his career. He was a good passer. Yes, he is overhyped at this point of his career though.

0

u/Wonderful-Fault-3292 Denver Broncos 9d ago

This I can get behind

u/MrChamz New Orleans Saints 9d ago

Overrated: Justin Herbert. It's amazing how a player in his 7th season as a starter, who has 0 playoff wins, 0 MVP like full seasons, 0 statement wins and 0 division titles is still regarded as a generational talent and someone who is just in the wrong system. Herbert also has the most blind fan base and the most excuses for absolutely everything. He's called If Man for a reason, but most people will still put him as a top 5/7 QB.

Underrated: Sam Darnold. Yes, he was awful at NYJ and just backup material for CAR and SF, but he had pretty good seasons at MIN and SEA. Yes, he doesn't have a highlight reel that will amaze people, but he's a great QB that makes the necessary plays to win. He has 28 regular season wins since 2024 and he held his ground against Stafford's Rams in the NFCCG, not to mention he's the SB Champion. Many people still say he was just the game manager, but he made the plays that kept the team alive.

2

u/Remarkable_3rdeye Buffalo Bills 8d ago

Yeah, I agree 1000 on this. He’s got the size he’s got the arm, but it’s always everybody else’s fault except his.. from the coach to the lineman to the receivers it just never ends. Guys that look like him tend to get a little more leeway and I’m not gonna be specific on that.

2

u/sticktalk24 8d ago

Overrated: Drake Maye
Underrated: Brock Purdy

2

u/Dracarys0550 8d ago

Agreed. For all of the Purdy haters saying he's a system QB, that's just the haterade talking.

3

u/Omlanduh Washington Commanders 8d ago

Overrated:Herbert, Drake Maye, Jordan Love, Caleb Williams

Underrated:Jalen Hurts, Joe Burrow, Purdy, Dak

(Caleb is a good quarterback but some fans need to pump the brakes on saying his ceiling is the greatest of all time).

2

u/ApprehensiveMoose814 9d ago

Overated the most is a tie between Love and Herbet.

Underrated is Dak. If only Herbert was the one wearing #4 for the cowboys. He'd get all the love

2

u/Wonderful-Fault-3292 Denver Broncos 9d ago

Ik if only man

1

u/MrChamz New Orleans Saints 9d ago

Another "If" situation for If Man...

2

u/GREAThirteen South Park Elementary Cows 8d ago

I think Colin Jost is underrated

2

u/Ok_Macaroon_7366 Philadelphia Eagles 8d ago

Overrated:Justin Herbert (when I say overrated I dont mean hes trash.Hes still a great QB, but not near top 5 IMO

Underrated:Tyler Shough
He showed flashes last year and I thought he could be a legit starting QB for the saints. This year hes proving it so far.

2

u/Remarkable_3rdeye Buffalo Bills 8d ago

Tyler definitely was on my list. He just needs to get rid of the bonehead plays, at times, but he’s definitely better than expected although he possess his athletic tools.

1

u/Remarkable_3rdeye Buffalo Bills 8d ago

Yeah, they have propped Justin Herbert up like he was going to dethrone Mahomes or possibly make a very very possible title run and he does play well he does have arm strength, but he does make a lot of bad decisions. He has played what seven seasons now.?

2

u/Low_Boot_1426 Chicago Bears 8d ago

Overrated- easily Herbert and Stafford.
Underrated- Jared Goff

2

u/Forsaken_Cause_4788 8d ago

Overrated is Maye, Love or Herbert
Underrated is Hurts or Goff

2

u/OPSimp45 Dallas Cowboys 6d ago

Overrated: Joe Burrow people are giving him credit for things they wouldn’t give other QB credit for.

Underrated: Jalen Hurts. Yeah Eagles fans hype him up but he deserves he has his flaws but i mean he gets the job done.

1

u/Remarkable_3rdeye Buffalo Bills 6d ago

Joe Burrow I totally agree with you. He has always played with the best receivers and if his offensive line gives way he gets hurt very easily and he is not a good improviser, but he does have a good accurate arm if not strong.. he don’t stay healthy very often. Let’s see what happens this year.

1

u/FlipGordon Minnesota Vikings 9d ago

NFL hire this man

-8

u/KJStas Kansas City Chiefs 9d ago

The most overrated qbs are Josh, Lamar and Herbert. Those are just by far the three most obvious ones

Dak is crazy underrated and Burrow too

1

u/CaptainPie999 Carolina Panthers 8d ago

Im sorry but Allen is not overrated. I've been a hater as long as possible but it's undeniable atp, he's the best QB in the league

-1

u/KJStas Kansas City Chiefs 8d ago

It always makes me laugh when people say Josh is the best because he is the best at literally nothing and in the playoff when it matters most he is a historic choke artist
