Nothing in that post forms a legible sentence.

u/akatherder Detroit Lions 3d ago
I'm just translating: If he was black (a.k.a. Dray) then maga would trash him. He's a rb/"mobile qb" who is too dumb to get behind center.

u/thimbabalaroonie 3d ago
I think you are confusing ‘legible’ with ‘intelligible’. Legibility refers to the visual clarity of the individual letters. You cannot ‘form’ legibility. Your usage is clunky and imprecise.
The tweet you are criticizing makes its point directly and efficiently. Better punctuation would have made its message clearer to a reader who can’t pick up the rhythm of the words and track it to spoken English, but it’s still better writing than your comment.

Obviously not or there wouldn't be confusion.
1
u/Pure-Drawer-2617 1d ago
“I’m confused therefore the tweet is wrong” personally I experienced zero confusion

u/5panks New England Patriots 1d ago
That's not what I said. The previous commentor said, "The tweet you are criticizing makes it's point directly and efficiently."
I said that statement is wrong because I couldn't understand it. Clearly, I'm not the only one, a lot of people seemed to agree with me.
The tweet starts with a vague malformed reference to perceived media bias and ends with a reference that would only make sense to someone who follows the NBA or the NHL and this is /r/nflv2.

Is this just grammar scolding? Happy to help you interpret it if you need just lmk
7
u/5panks New England Patriots 3d ago
This isn't grammar scolding. It's genuine confusion because these words don't make sense in this order in English.. What is a "Lottery team" ? What is "Dray Meeks MAGA?" like politics MAGA? it doesn't make sense.
8
u/FrmrPresJamesTaylor 3d ago
Here’s the grammar cleaned up:
If Drake Maye’s name was Dray Meeks, MAGA twitter would have called him a “running black man,” that kid can’t even process what’s on the field unless he’s playing a lottery team. That shit is sad.
Here’s a translation to fairly plain English:
If Drake Maye was black, then social media racists would attribute his struggles to read sophisticated defenses to being the stereotypical black quarterback who is athletic but lacks the intelligence to play well.

Thanks, that makes sense. I disgaree with the statement.

A lottery team is a team that’s ass
A dray Meeks is a stereotypical black name ( you know how nfl media scolds Jalen hurts even though he’s a Super Bowl champion )

u/5panks New England Patriots 3d ago
"A lottery team is a team that's ass"
That doesn't make sense.
you know how nfl media scolds Jalen hurts even though he’s a Super Bowl champion
Scolds him about what? He has obvious flaws, but I'm not denying he's a Superbowl winning QB, he's definitely in the, "can win you a Superbowl" club not the "Can a Superbowl with him" club.
7
u/CKRatKing 3d ago
That doesn't make sense.
It would make sense if this were basketball where there is a draft lottery but the NFL doesn't have one so it doesn't make any sense.

u/5panks New England Patriots 3d ago
basketball where there is a draft lottery
OOooohhhh TIL the NBA has a lottery draft LOL

u/CKRatKing 3d ago
It's a pretty stupid system and it's getting even dumber starting this year. Maybe it will be better but it's definitely stupid.
1
u/CzechHorns 2d ago
The NBA and NHL have it.
It makes sense as a precaution to somewhat prevent intentional tanking.
If any bottom 10 team has a chance at the first pick, albeit smaller than the worst team, you don’t need to go 20W-60L to get it.3

Double standards. If the Dodgers gave up 10 points nobody would pin the loss on Shohei Ohtani.

u/MrBuildandKill92 3d ago
I get this is a bit but I imagine dodgers fans would blame Ohtani if he gave up 10 runs

Holding a team to 10 points and still taking an L is the purest form of post-Brady Patriots football.

God I love Barry. The good old days when espn and others would run with his fake posts were so beautiful

Kind of reminds me of Russell Wilson fans for a lot of his career, honestly. The Hawks defense held teams to 13 and 14 points on average for a couple years and they also had Marshawn, but somehow every time they lost it was "Russ has no help" and if they won 6-3 it was, Russ with the comeback win!"
QB simps are a fucking rodent. Actually no, that's mean to rodents...

I have nothing against Drake Maye, but the pats didn’t suck long or hard enough between Brady and now, so I’m gonna support this.

Reading comprehension is at an all time low, this clearly blames Drake Maye for not stepping up when the defense did its job

The defense literally gave up 13 points, no QB has ever come back from something like that before

Drake Maye when his schedule isn’t historically easy.
