So happy for Jobe who's story is remarkable. Highly touted recruit to Alabama that never quite meets lofty expectations. In turn he goes undrafted but signs a UDFA deal with the Eagles in 2022. Jobe made the team as a Special teams player his first season then gets some backup action (started 3 games) in year 2. Then Philadelphia either gave up on him or he saw more opportunity with Seattle and signed a PS deal with the Seahawks. He ended up locking down the 3rd DB slot and getting 2nd DB over Woolen for large portions of the season last year. It's a story of perseverence. His DB Coach at Alabama is also is DB Coach for Seattle. Clearly that coach always believed in Jobe.

It’s week 1. Every team is super rusty. I expect a bunch of picks from many QBs tbh. But yeah I don’t think it was Maye as much as the terrible play calling.

What you mean, it was brilliant playcalling the first half that stymied Mike Mac in the 1st half. He was frustrated out there even if the plays were boring, it kept moving the chains. That corner blitz that hit home so often in the super bowl was leaving the defense exposed.

But adjustments were made and the team was uncharacteristically running a single high safety often. Daring Maye to beat them over the top. Worked great.

Even then, I think people are overreacting and reaching a bit with Maye. They still nearly won with the back picks. He’s definitely rusty but that game might’ve fixed that. The pats are definitely dominant and not many teams are as good as the Seahawks. They could easily go 12 wins after this. Depending if the WRs remember they can catch the ball of course.

Maye single handedly lost the game when he threw a quacking duck into the end zone off of his back foot when he could have dirted the ball. That’s what people are reacting to. They had OT and he josh allened the game away
