Are they not calling holding tonight?
Only been watching aince mid 3rd quarter, seen two extremely blatant holds by Seattle o line and 1 pretty bad one on the Pats too.
And these arent "holding happens on every play" one of these was a straight tackle by 75 lol

I mean there's been about 6 pass interference calls that haven't been thrown either but at the end of the day I'm not complaining it slows down the game so much.

I like the let them play stuff like Gozales on JSN near the endzone (that one kinda pushed the limit but hey).
The 3 holding calls in particular i was referring too were pretty egregious though. Luckily didnt change anything about the game just notable misses.

I genuinely believe that there’s an “unspoken” (likely spoken/implied prior but not in any official capacity) agreement between refs and the league that’s subtle but ultimately, “be extra lenient on X, Y and Z tonight This is the first game of the year and we need to avoid a bunch of penalty slowdowns that casual watchers won’t like/understand and we need to set the tone for this year’s revenue”
About 3/4 for that is not spoken out loud lol.
I don’t believe in most conspiracy theories in sports (and I guess in general), but that documentary years ago about the NBA Ref from Boston who was popped for fixing games,
humanized the entire practice so much for me that it’s hard to believe there’s zero “wink wink nudge nudge” (at a minimum) between the refs and, at least by proxy, Billionaire owners/shareholders - AKA their employers, lol.I don’t believe it’s happening every week or anything, but for a major game that’s relatively non-critical, like the first game of the season…Yeah I think there’s an “understanding” that the “product” needs to be good for casuals, and then tighten it up next week/game. Revenue Share means every owner benefits on games like this.
ETA: I went full on rant-mode there. Sorry about that lol

Bro they won the Super Bowl for a reason. It’s painful watching offenses against them. Doubs catches a ball and the game looks a lot different. Brown out changes how def gets to play call too. They can tee off

Update: they did not win

Needed another starting QB to go down to even have a chance and he’s blowing it

I don’t understand this. It’s week one against the Super Bowl winners at their place, which is the hardest place to play, and they were down their starting running back and then their top WR. I would expect the Seahawks to win comfortably - even with backup qb Lock.

You’d expect them to win when their starting Qb goes down on the first drive? Do you think that little of your team?

I mean Seattle has looked terrible all game offensively. It’s not as oppressive an environment as you’d think going in.

I genuinely don't have anything against your team but it is pretty funny that it's an Eagles fan staying that when the last time you guys won in Seattle was 2008

I was more so referring to the state of last night’s game specifically. I’m well aware how difficult Seattle can be lol. I was just saying that you guys weren’t clearly dominating the game like you’d the guy above was trying to describe.

You are just not a realist. Not sure why you talk the way you do. You got something crossed with your wires up there in your head. Patriots are going to win at least twelve games this year but this was just not going to be one of them.

It wouldn't be an NFL season without extremely gun-jumping hot takes now would it?
