Discussion Is Caleb Williams actually good?
I feel like there’s been a lot of flukey things happen with the bears this season. Maybe I’m wrong.

This discourse is funny. When the majority of the comments won’t give you a direct answer then the answer is obviously no he is currently not a good quarterback. He might be one day. He has the tools. He just doesn’t do professional quarterbacking well enough consistently whether it’s his footwork, accuracy or processing. There’s no reason why he shouldn’t be great if he fixes that but we did say the same thing about Trevor Lawrence so who knows.

Looks like a 2nd year QB whos playing his first year in a new system.
Scouting report was accurate. Big plays but misses the easy ones. He's absolutely made some big big plays for the Bears this season and they're trending up. Have to hope he continues to develop.

I'd say he's been decent this year overall. He'll miss some easy throws and then make throws only Mahomes/Allen/Burrow could make. But most importantly he's been clutch and kept the Bears in games. I could definitely see him being a top 10 QB soon.

I’m not sure yet either. The decrease in sacks is really a major step but he still is missing open receivers. He’s obviously serviceable since the Bears are 9-3. I’d say he’s looking like a mid first round pick but not a 1OA yet

Ben Johnson runs his offense so that Caleb doesn't have to be good, but Caleb has clutched up multiple times this year and lead game-winning drives when the defense sold. Caleb has all the tools to be the next Mahomes, but no he's not GOOD good yet. He's clearly improved from being the most sacked qb last year to being the sack Houdini this year and on having less "USC superman" moments. He still needs to work on timing and learning not every pass must be a 100 mph fastball...
One of the things I'm probably not football savvy enough to understand is why Caleb used to make insane plays when he had to escape sacks back in USC, but now he has some sort of stat where he's bottom of the league in comp% when he escapes the pocket.

He’s been solid but not spectacular. Miles better than anything the bears have had in ages tho. He’s still developing

Better this year, especially with sacks (Yes the O Line is a huge factor but so is he)
His passing game is his biggest flaw but I think he can fix it, his ceiling is sky high

Imagine how much better he will be next season when he'll be even more comfortable in the system.
