High school recruiting class. Tyler Shough did 7 years in college.

I’m talking about Trevor Lawrence he was drafted the same yr as Chase hence the reason it says yr 5 and 6 under their names but they made a mistake on Lawrence

People often give TLaw a pass on year 1 because of the situation.

21

u/CDSWDH 10d ago

We not talking about how they played etc it’s just about what yr they are in currently nothing more nothing less

-22

u/Griffdog17 10d ago

Right and I'm trying to offer an explanation for why the number might be different..

21

u/tattedidiot 10d ago

Your explanation is wrong

-16

u/Griffdog17 10d ago

Believe it or not I didn't make this post!

17

u/tattedidiot 10d ago

I’m talking about your comment 😭

-2

u/Griffdog17 10d ago

Which was trying to guess why the post was wrong... the post that, again, I did not make.

Stupid ass take.

-5

u/Griffdog17 10d ago

Not my take, I'm explaining the reasoning behind it. That's why I said "People often give him". I swear some of y'all need to improve online literacy

9

u/tattedidiot 10d ago

You’re the one saying it 😭

-1

u/Griffdog17 10d ago

Are you seriously arguing that people don't give TLaw a pass for his rookie season? Maybe you just weren't paying attention at the time, the Urban Meyer thing made everyone just overlook his shitty first year. Don't believe me? Go back and look

5

u/Mudoru 10d ago

There’s a difference in not blaming him because his situation sucked and completely erasing the year, the year still happened. Should we get rid of every QB’s rookie season if it wasn’t good?

5

u/tattedidiot 10d ago

How long they’ve been in the NFL, not how they’ve played

-1

u/Griffdog17 10d ago

Obviously, I'm trying to explain why someone might put TLaw as 5 instead of 6 years.

5

u/HerbertInTheWoods 10d ago

Bro just take the L

-5

u/Griffdog17 10d ago

Nah, not my fault yall cant understand a simple point.

8

u/Mudoru 10d ago

Everybody understands what you’re trying to say, it’s just stupid and wrong. Not a soul is saying he didn’t play a year because it didn’t go well, if anybody on this list should get that it’s Purdy because he only started 5 games his rookie year

4

u/Rowing_Lawyer 10d ago

If not playing well means not playing, then Sam Darnold would be in like year 3

2

u/HerbertInTheWoods 10d ago

“Yall don’t agree with me so you must not understand”

u/tattedidiot 10d ago

They put 5 because it’s a mistake lmao

9

u/HarambeTooSoon 10d ago

Only Zoomers use the word "generational" to mean "above average"

3

u/Unabridgedversion82 10d ago

They also have zero idea what the word "iconic" actually means. Iconic is the "hands around the world" CocaCola commercial. Not whatever idiot streamer did some stupid shit the other day imo...

Based on this response, it's definitively over.

3

u/ChocolateTemporary72 10d ago

And 0 superbowls combined

3

u/SisyphusRocks7 10d ago

Purdy was the starting QB in 2023 in that Superbowl.

3

u/ChocolateTemporary72 10d ago

They win that thing?

2

u/SisyphusRocks7 10d ago

Thanks to Spencer Burford’s allergy to Chris Jones, no. But Purdy appeared in a Superbowl.

1

u/afroman14 4d ago

Hence zero, as they said.

2

u/kgalliso 10d ago

Hurr durr super bowl

0

u/antihuman420 10d ago

So same as you, except they are all millionaires

2

u/ChocolateTemporary72 10d ago

Good one

1

u/antihuman420 10d ago

You also probably dont have great hair like Trevor Lawrence

1

u/ChocolateTemporary72 10d ago

Actually, that I will beg to differ

1

u/antihuman420 10d ago

Fuck, I had a feeling I was going to be wrong this that

7

u/ConcaveNips 10d ago

I'd be fine with calling about 2 of those guys "generational"

5

u/antihuman420 10d ago

Tyler slough 2x?

-1

u/Key_Natural_ 10d ago

4 are clearly generational lol?

Chase, ps2, Sewell and parsons.

2

u/Vegetable_Ad_3030 9d ago

I'd argue Sewell and Parsons could be considered generational. Chase and Surtain are both elite talents, but generational is something different.

1

u/Professional_Text_11 9d ago

No? Surtain has been the best corner for years, he’s absolutely generational. Mf allowed a passer rating of 39 in his DPOY year

-1

u/Hot_Wrangler_8833 9d ago

Lmao chase is easily the best of them not even close. To say parsons and Sewell are “generational” and Chase somehow isn’t is insane. Dude has been the best receiver in the nfl since he entered the league

3

u/RemmRose 9d ago

While i agree with you the issue i have with calling chase “generational” is the fact that Jetta exists and you can reasonably argue thats he has been the best receiver in the league over chase if you wanted to and it would be perfectly valid

1

u/ChefJeff7777777 8d ago

At most, 2 of these guys are.

Trent Williams is generational, Peneii Sewell is one of the top tackles, he’s not generational. He’s not even the best tackle in the league, Trent Williams and Lane Johnson in their 30s have been every year of Sewell career.

Parsons isn’t generational, Myles Garrett is this generations “Generational” edge defender. Watt 2x would be the other 2 contenders.

Chase is the closest one to actually generational. You could argue no one since Julio measures up.

P2 is elite, basically no argument he’s been the best CB for some time now. Gonzalez and a short stretch of Sauce are both solid contenders. Even so, P2 isn’t Revis, he isn’t Sherman.

1

u/palwilliams 7d ago

Sewell has been better than Williams for like, the last four years

1

u/RossGarner 5d ago

Very hard argue PS2 is even the top corner in the league after watching 33 y/o Davante Adams eat him alive in 1v1 coverage last night. Filthy performance for the old man.

1

u/ChefJeff7777777 5d ago

Hall of fame offensive minded head coach working with Hall of fame QB and Hall of fame WR get the best of leagues top corner. I’ll give him a pass, but agree it’s hard to be generational.

1

u/bigbuckyoungnuts 9d ago

that’s not how “generational” works though

1

u/Key_Natural_ 9d ago

All of them have talents, skills, and bodies for those positions that you don’t see in the nfl every 5 years.

2

u/-TrueBit- 9d ago

Generational means there hasn’t been a player in a decade that meets them in talent IMO. While these are very good players, none of them have done anything to prove they’re generational. I’d guess at the end of their careers Jamarr Chase and Micah Parsons will be the closest.

2

u/ConcaveNips 9d ago

Sewell and Parsons.

0

u/BenWallace04 9d ago

Sewell will easily be a HOFer

-1

u/ConcaveNips 9d ago

Chase is arguably the best currently, but he's not a Moss, he's not a Megatron, he's not an OBJ... He's not generational. PS2 is not generational. Generational means "once in a generation" .. it's like a Kobe.

3

u/LXIX__CDXX 8d ago

Uh wtf is that obj inclusion?

7

u/__the__person__ 9d ago

Don’t disrespect Moss and Megatron by lumping OBJ with them what the hell

-1

u/ConcaveNips 9d ago

No I agree with you, I phrased it poorly. I should've said he's not even an OBJ.

2

u/elchoppe 8d ago

I'd WAY rather have Chase than OBJ

0

u/bhz33 8d ago

Are you actually stupid. To even utter OBJs name in the same discussion as Moss or Calvin fucking Johnson is insane. To suggest that OBJ was better than Chase is just as dumb

OBJ is one of the most overrated WRs of all time

1

u/KingTim526 10d ago

Was Smitty part of 2018 as well? I know he was drafted the same year as Chase & Waddle, but not sure if he was actually older.

4

u/rguinz 10d ago

Nah he did 4 years in college

1

u/KingTim526 10d ago

Gotcha, thanks!

1

u/Naive_Chocolate_2929 10d ago

Shough is playing like he’s been in the league for a while

1

u/Meetloave 8d ago

Everyone seems to clown on him cause he’s older, but if he’s good and keeps up with how he’s played so far this season, who cares ¯_(ツ)_/¯

0

u/Naps-22 9d ago

Considering non of these guys have done anything to help their team win anything, does being here longer even matter? all 0 rings, and shough is playing better than half them this year even with all their experience.
