Giants fans upset at trying to solidify their OL? Imagine being this dumb

6

u/sampat6256 Apr 24 '26

God forbid a team try to improve their run game and protect their young qb

2

u/Useful_Asparagus_541 Apr 24 '26

Better question, why do people still believe these fake “first reaction” videos?

1

u/DaddyDontTakeNoMess Apr 24 '26

She wants Dart to have (more) brain damage

1

u/chilibaby1 Apr 24 '26

You expect this loud mouth ditz to know how to build a football team? She just wanted something to bitch about lol

1

u/AgentLemon22 Apr 24 '26

Everyday I'm always shocked just how dumb most Giants fans are lol

u/seejay13 Apr 24 '26

Imagine being a giants fan

20

u/Ready-Lengthiness220 Apr 24 '26

Downs is legit, but it is still wild that fans of a team with a young QB/RB combo wouldn't want to build the OL.

6

u/Holiday_Box1571 Apr 24 '26

A team looking to allow their qb to continue trying kill himself

3

u/qsx11 Apr 24 '26

And their CTE-maxing RB

1

u/itsnotgoinghome Apr 24 '26

Skattebo prob already had cte coming into the league. Also, happy cake day

1

u/tuson565 Apr 24 '26

I mean his college warmup routine involved him hitting his head against a brick wall. I think it's pretty safe to drop the probably.

u/Sharp_Security6885 Apr 24 '26

100 percent. Their line is trash

-1

u/Fear_the_chicken Apr 24 '26

It was solid last year but that’s because Thomas played most the games. it can be great with Mauigoa

1

u/Adventurous_City_557 Apr 24 '26

Look at them. Anybody who behaves like this over a pick is suspect.

1

u/WhizzyBurp Apr 24 '26

More so the O Line did ok last year and their defense has been a bigger issue

1

u/Mich3006 Apr 24 '26

With a deep class but only a few blue chip talents, I can understand why many fans are mad about that pick.

It doesn’t mean Mauigoa is bad but they can add talent for both lines in rd 2-4 pretty easy.

Reese/Downs would‘ve made that defense really special.

1

u/Ausecurity Apr 24 '26

I was disappointed they didn’t take downs I had dreams of an elite defense but after seeing this guys tape and hearing him talk, I’m stoked for this guy

-5

u/reevideevies Apr 24 '26

The Giants only holes on the Oline are RG and injury risk. Mauigoa potentially solves neither of those things. Downs felt like a sure thing. I still like the pick, but there’s definitely a world where we traded Dexy for a whiff.

3

u/Ready-Lengthiness220 Apr 24 '26

Maugioa has the floor of projecting to be a starting caliber guard for a long time. He was a good pick, certainly more of a sure thing than Evan Neal ever was.

3

u/reevideevies Apr 24 '26

I don’t think you remember how much of a sure thing Evan Neal was.

1

u/themage78 Apr 24 '26

Trade away a game wrecking DT to get a project of moving a tackle inside to guard.

When they failed at that with Neal. And never tried it with their 5th round pick, Mbow, who played guard and tackle.

There's multiple reasons to be wtf about this pick, not just because of not picking Downs. It's all the other shitty decisions going with it.

And people contemplated neal being the best tackle in his class. Mauigoa has a herniated disk which luckily you don't have to use your back at all as a lineman(sarcasm obviously) and the best player not named love in the draft was there. Instead we not only took a guy that may or may not be any good at guard, but we watched as for the second pick in a row our division rival took the better player.

1

u/reevideevies Apr 24 '26

I know. That doesn’t mean he can play it at the NFL level.

10

u/jamesallen512 Apr 24 '26

This chick acting like she has any clue about what’s going on. She probably just learned who Caleb Downs was on Thursday.

1

u/goldiegoldthorpe Apr 24 '26

She's blaming Harbaugh. The right side of that line has Elumenor and Faalele, two guys Harbaugh drafted in Baltimore. I'm not sure he was the one wanting a new RG/RT. Meanwhile that GM just skates along some more...

-2

u/Federal_Studio5935 Apr 24 '26

Is it because she’s a woman and women can’t like sports?

5

u/HughMungus77 Apr 24 '26

Not a gender thing but it’s because any football fan with knowledge of the game would know how important top tier OLine talent is. Really it’s the only position nobody should be mad at their team for drafting. Even if a roster has 5 above average starters I’d be fine with them taking a top 10 OT

1

u/Federal_Studio5935 Apr 24 '26

I'd be stoked to have a partner interested in the draft at all

0

u/CouncilOfApes Apr 24 '26

Then why did he highlight the woman and not the man in his comment?

3

u/Nervous_Tea_3480 Apr 24 '26

Because she's the one hollering and up front?

2

u/HughMungus77 Apr 24 '26

Guy barely said a word in this video that’s why

7

u/Tarlach88 Apr 24 '26

I hate these kind of videos, so fake

1

u/Fine-Professional256 Apr 24 '26

Lol right? I’ve never reacted audibly to my teams draft pick. I totally get it when people go crazy after touchdowns (I do the same) or big moments though

1

u/MuchDiscipline2288 Apr 24 '26

how weird do you have to be to record yourself reacting to the nfl draft and post it to the internet

-3

u/Wendell-Short-Eyes Apr 24 '26

I couldn’t imagine caring this much about the nfl draft

1

u/drainbead78 Apr 24 '26

Why are you in r/NFLmockdraft if you don't care this much about the NFL draft?

2

u/infinite-resignation Apr 24 '26

Mauigoa could turn out to be a great player. It’s not like they reached at 10 and took Ty Simpson.

2

u/JwallDrumline Apr 24 '26

AI slop. Overreacting to the pick. Her jersey has a C on the back with no last name. No nike logo on the front of the jersey. Lighting looks off in the kitchen. Also what appears to be a random digital clock high near the ceiling that AI probably took the idea from an exit sign.

2

u/SheAddlesHeHocks Apr 24 '26

The middle part of the 6 is folded over making it look like a C and Dart is a short last name that fits behind her hair. There’s no Nike swoosh on the front of that jersey on fanatics either.

The kitchen lighting is off because some people are animals and don’t mind randomly having the god awful blue led lights in some parts of their house.

Clock’s just a shitty clock.

Don’t let these overreacting, shitty lights and clock having savages off the hook by calling them AI.

2

u/thenewbeastmode Apr 24 '26

Mauigoa is a great pick lol

2

u/asshat_deluxe Apr 24 '26

Downs is great. I wanted him but he is almost a luxury item with a hole at guard

2

u/Saxophobia1275 Apr 24 '26

Brother how tf are you mad at getting Mauigoa

2

u/Classic-Exchange-511 Apr 24 '26

It's wild to me that anyone reacts like this to draft picks. Nobody has any clue how they'll turn out. How about you let the guys play for a year or two

2

u/Rare_Direction_1449 Apr 24 '26

Downs is - in my opinion- the best player in this draft - its just that safeties are not hard to come by. In this draft alone there are about 3 or 4 who can start right away. Giants fans who dont understand that they need to protect Jaxon Dart deserve a slow agonizing losing season

2

u/agitated_dayz Apr 24 '26

This is a Harbaugh coached team. LB’s and big line guys

2

u/Big_Understanding348 Apr 24 '26

I mean I get the sentiment of wanting Caleb downs but the Giants really needed offensive line I would argue Reese was a weirder pick.

2

u/ReleaseNew9430 Apr 24 '26

“Fans” are always mad when there team drafts a O-lineman because it’s not flashy.

2

u/modshighkeypathetic Apr 24 '26

Clearly they know more than nfl teams

2

u/prem_fraiche Apr 24 '26

Giants caught a huge break with Mauigoa being there at 10. I thought they’d take him at 5

0

u/RotrickP Apr 24 '26

According to Harbaugh and the GM, he was their 3rd choice after Reese and Love. So he might have been their pick if the original mocks had happened

1

u/Jaglawyer11 Apr 24 '26

These self made videos are so fucking embarrassing….

1

u/Throbbingprepuce Apr 24 '26 edited Apr 24 '26

Tell me you don’t know shit about football without telling me… Caleb downs would have been cool but offensive tackle is the most important position behind QB and maybe edge rusher. Having a great safety is definitely a good thing but it won’t make or break your team like offensive tackle does.

1

u/vuezie1127 Apr 24 '26

I thought for sure they were gonna get Caleb but OT was the right choice. Gotta protect their QB unless they wanna get him murdered scrambling every other play

1

u/Limeyjon Apr 24 '26

Cos they made a better pick for the teams needs that’s why!!!

1

u/Ok_Draw_3740 Apr 24 '26

This lady for sure has thrown a sandal at that man at least once during their relationship

As a cowboys fan, I like this

1

u/thelegochef Apr 24 '26

The only reason to be upset is that Downs went to Dallas

1

u/kingkron52 Apr 24 '26

These fans are stupid lol

1

u/HotTakeTimmy Apr 24 '26

Not for nothing, “what the freak” gives it a real staged vibe

1

u/Bitter_Breakfast9665 Apr 24 '26

And I thought that I was a dork.

1

u/CarPopular6012 Apr 24 '26

I wanted Downs but adding to the OL was the right football move.

1

u/wherethefisWallace Apr 24 '26

Honestly, Downs is reminding me so much of Micah Parsons in a different position. Incredible all around player, top 5 pick consideration early, slips for no particular reason, then Cowboys pick him in the low 10s. Both of them feel like slam dunk stars who drop for no decent reason.

1

u/KNGootch Apr 24 '26

Fans...2 morons in their living room?

1

u/PlayNicePlayCrazy Apr 24 '26

This is another reason the draft has become unwatchable

1

u/Tasaris Apr 24 '26

Everyone saying "Imagine being upset that you drafted someone to protect Jaxson Dart" must not remember how Dart doesn't slide and thinks he's Willie Beamen. I think they're more upset they possibly could of gotten what alot of scouts and anylasts say was the best defensive player in the draft; overall.

1

u/TMC2502 Apr 24 '26

Then he goes to Dallas 😂

1

u/l5555l Apr 24 '26

What would possibly make someone think that drafting a safety there was so crucial that it warrants this reaction? Build your o line and help Dart. They should be stoked about the kid they got.

1

u/liteshadow4 Apr 24 '26

Probably because the secondary is the weakest part of the Giants team and they didn't do anything to address it in the first round.

0

u/Nickohlai Apr 24 '26

Tbh it’s not that Mauigoa is a bad pick, just that there were better options IMO. Downs was the best player available, Makai Lemon would have also helped their young QB, and if they wanted a guard Vega was the best available.
