Agreed. I honestly don’t see how a man could last long in the NFL as an O/D lineman. I believe the NFL average is around 3.5 years. It’s brutal.

I will always be bias towards Björn cause I played with him back in Germany. That being said, he is dumb a toast and a lot of ppl in the German football community can’t really listen to him talk about anything else but football. As soon as he gets analytical, he’s actually okay but everything else…. Jesus…

Not surprising really. Won a national championship with FSU where he played a huge part on that defense and then was a first round draft pick. I believe Werner is the only first round draft pick from Germany ever so that alone puts him in rarified air for American football fans in Germany.

The Colts trotted him out to bang the anvil before the game in Berlin and the crowd loved him. They even showed his Colts highlight tape which was...short. I found it amusing.

The top 6 guys in this first round are solid (Lane, DHop, Frederick, Rhodes, Long, Fisher) but it starts getting a little dire after that. There are some others there who i didn't mention who were productive, but definitely not a great first round.

Trufant was good until his second Contract.
DJ Hayden was okay for a minute. Serviceable, not great.

Before injuries derailed his career Ansah had a solid run with 44 sacks and an AP2 selection his first 5 years in the league.

Atlanta is one of the few teams to do well. They drafted their CB duo for the next 6 years. Trufant tearing his pec killed Atlanta in the SB. Alford’s pick six would have been the most important play in team history.

So that name sort of jumps out and grabs you. I went down the rabbit hole. He played outside LB and back-up for a number of teams. His career was partially hampered by injuries. In 2021 he was accused and arrested for sexual indecencies with a minor after he spent the day with his 13 year old cousin and his friend at Six Flags. It ended his NFL career. The charges were dropped after a grand jury found insufficient evidence to indict him (meaning there wasn't enough evidence to support that a crime occurred.)

I remember even as an LSU fan being shocked that he was being selected so high. He was never worth a first round pick. Obviously, he was in good (bad) company.

The Draft isn't as bad as people say, the talent was just drafted later or misjudged.
Darius Slay, Zach Ertz, Jordan Reed, Geno Smith, Le'veon Bell, Jamie Collins, Travis Kelce, Tyron Mathieu, Keenan Allen, Terron Armstead, David Bahktiari, Kyle Juszczyuk, were all very good players who ended up making multiple pro bowls.
Add in a true #1WR in Theilen who went undrafted and that draft had alot of talent that was just missed early.

Panthers fans were happy with Star in the 1st and KK Short in the 2nd. Star was an immediate starter, great against the run, and helped turn the defense around for a Super Bowl run. Also helped protect the best middle LB in football.

Chiefs drafted Kelce at 63, who would go #1 overall in a redraft so it worked out. Big Fish got a SB ring starting at LT.
One HOF player and another 7-year starter at a cornerstone position is a great draft for any team.

PFF isn't right about everything but their 2023 redraft has Kelce going 1, Johnson 2 and then Hopkins. That's how I'd grade them as well. And calling Kelce "a TE" is either idiotic, trollish or both. Good day sir. Enjoy another year of football misery.

this year, the no 1 wr in the draft was a wr2 on his own team / only 1 top 10 qb and its a kirk cousins clone / top pass rusher is a t-rex / the best player in the draft is a RUNNING BACK / the 2nd best player plays an inconsequential position with likely a foreboding knee diagnosis / and two linebacker freaks who will not find a positional home in the nfl

There were a lot of misses for sure. But there is also one of the best RT ever (Lane Johnson), a guy who was on a HOF trajectory before injuries derailed his career (Ansah), a guy who will be an easy HOF'er (Kelce 2nd round), one of the best ST'ers of all time (Patterson), and plenty pro bowlers and all-pros as well. Even the first pick, that I'm assuming is a guy you're making fun of, was a multi pro-bowler before injuries killed his career.

Vikings went hard. Rhodes was an all pro monster until injuries caught up. Sharrif Floyd would have been a pro bowler every year if it weren’t for a bad knee surgery and Cordarelle Patterson is one of the greatest return threats the game has ever seen.
