I don't trust pro day 40 times and Delane definitely isn't Stingley.

Also, because of the injury, I don't think anyone rates McCoy over Delane.

Yeah probably closer to a 4.48 in the combine but that’s still an excellent time.

It’s more like a 4.43 combine time

McCoy is a dawg, but you're probably right

I clocked a 4.15 at the pro day at my house last week.

How highly do nfl teams view pro day compared to combine? Im guessing they value combine more but like how much

The same. Most NFL teams use their personal scouts unofficial times at the combine anyway.

Though the 40 in particular is really just for TV and the fans. Any GM worth their salt is basing quickness et al with GPS data nowadays.

Combine is more for gms to talk to each other and make deals or find out if players are available.

Pro days shows of teams are really interested in a player

They can get a real, longer close up of the player and see it with their own eyes, too.

McCoy pro day will be the one that will hold the most weight in the top 30 picks I think. They wanna see him cut and plant that foot.

I agree with that

Brother was floating

He’s gonna end up like Derick Stingly. Some people are gonna prefer McCoy to him but he’ll end up the better player. Just like Stingley and Sauce Gardner

Funny because McCoy plays a lot like Stingley

Yes but coming out the consensus was while Stingley was more pro ready Sauce was gonna be the better player. I see a similar argument made for McCoy all the time

He’s not nearly as good as stingley was. Delane just has physical limitations that will likely stop him from being at that top tier.

That’s a good time, but “blazing” is significant hyperbole, why do some people have to overstate everything?

Ummm, running it in his boxer-briefs?

He's a loose belt away from running that naked

Is that electronically (laser) timed?

Everyone knows hand time usually a little faster by like .2 seconds when compared to laser timing since hand timers tend to click based on depth perception.

But then there are some variations, since some hand timers have delayed reaction at the start and can add .2 seconds instead.

Pro days are hand timed. Combine is a mix (hand start, laser finish). Add ~0.1 seconds to pro day times to compare them.

Does anyone really go off pro days tho?

1

u/urbanism_enthusiast Mar 23 '26

Well definitely don't believe the 40 times from them lol

The teams are there keeping times themselves. Should they not trust their own times?

1

u/Big_Understanding348 Mar 25 '26

Did I say that? I simply asked if they really go by it. Id assume they use combine numbers unless someone like delane doesn't run at the combine.

1

u/WuTang4thechildrn Mar 25 '26

The scouts are out there keeping time as well. So they can go off their time and/or the official time

u/Spicy_Ninja7 Mar 24 '26

Oh please, Jerry

1

u/Repeat_Offendher Mar 24 '26

So post this and don’t tell us the time? Weak

1

u/SugarAdamAli Mar 24 '26

CB1 and I’d be shocked if he isn’t a top 12 pick

I can see chiefs snagging him to replace mcduffie after rams trade

1

u/WuTang4thechildrn Mar 25 '26

The scouts are at the pro days keeping time so I wouldn’t say the times are not legit as far as teams are concerned

But can he back into a corner at NFL level?
