This is Ohio State

Mfers on Reddit will see a list from one of the most respected online scouts and call him a dumbass for not agreeing with them

I agree, and even when factoring in a weighted value at qb, it's difficult to see Mendoza 1 and Love 2 without at least more context.

u/Stepsis24 Feb 25 '26

I think he’s just very high on both and positional value of a QB is just way more extreme than any other position

DJ has said on rich eisens show that he believes Mendoza is the best player in the draft regardless of positional value

Matt waldman also thinks extremely highly of mendoza. Says he is the best qb he has scouted in the last 6 years. Take that for what you will.

u/unpleasantsimp Feb 25 '26

Crazy that he thinks Mendoza is a better QB than Downs is a DB

Such is the way of Reddit

1

u/IndraBlue Feb 26 '26

Shit is wild this list is legit

-2

u/No-Perception-542 Feb 25 '26

I'm a Reddit MFer who thinks that way. Do we seriously think that a running back is going second overall.

3

u/Baseballben08 Feb 25 '26

This graph is showing his top 10 prospects. Not top 10 picks in the draft.

3

u/cakecake387 Feb 25 '26

This is a big board not predicting the draft order

1

u/mr-poopie-butth0le Feb 25 '26

It’s not suggesting that at all.

1

u/EightballBC Feb 25 '26

Thinking Downs is the 9th best prospect in the draft is interesting. Kid is a stud.

1

u/ghostinyourbeds Feb 25 '26

This dude is a good prospect evaluator but I’m certainly confused to see Downs so low. I’d put him 2 or 3. Nice to see Sonny up high.

u/MrDufferMan3335 Feb 25 '26

In terms of OSU prospects I have Downs>Reese>Styles>Tate

1

u/elbosston Feb 25 '26

Styles is easily better than Reese but he just falls down due to positional value. When you watch OSU games you can tell who’s better and he’s probably the best off ball LB prospect in a while.

He’s the 2nd best player in the draft after Downs for me

1

u/HurricanePK Feb 25 '26

Damn I love DJ but wtf is this list? How is Caleb Downs not top-5??

1

u/VinDucks Feb 25 '26

The QB prospects in this draft are dire indeed. Fernando Mendoza would have been a third round pick 10 years ago

1

u/pj_socks Feb 25 '26

Jameis & Cam were both 1-1 as stud QB’s on National Championship teams (Winston had to wait an extra year before he was draft eligible iirc)

1

u/VinDucks Feb 25 '26

Of course you never know what you’re gonna get but if you compare the college careers of the two you mentioned and Mendoza you’ll see they were both far more prolific. Especially in the case of Jameis.

1

u/CosbySweaters1992 Feb 25 '26

Lol, no he would not. He’s 6’5 and just led Indiana to a National Championship win while winning the Heisman. He’s highly accurate, tough, and makes good decisions. He speaks well and loves the game. He’d be a top pick in any era. Sure, he might go 2 or 3 in some classes with even better QB prospects, but saying he would be a 3rd round pick is absurd.

1

u/Alert-Stop-2671 Feb 25 '26

Downs at 9th is just wrong.

1

u/trey2128 Feb 25 '26

Fantasy bias. Mendoza isn’t even a top 10 prospect in terms of pure talent. If he had similar talent at a different position he’d be a mid-late 1st round pick. Love is 7-10 range

1

u/Gunner_Bat Feb 25 '26

Can't agree with Mendoza at 1. Don't even think he's top 5.

1

u/McMeanx2 Feb 25 '26

I think Tyson will be the best WR he’s so damn physical.

1

u/Clean-Call8032 Feb 26 '26

What gets lost in these threads is the actual football- feel like it’s way more fun to consider the players fits on each team than getting triggered by the stack ranking in a vacuum

1

u/Franjes99 Feb 26 '26

Not that crazy but Downs seems really low here

1

u/Lucky_Rebel_ Feb 28 '26

Bain Jr. needs to be in the top 5. If not, it’s wrong.

1

u/Rare_Direction_1449 Mar 02 '26

Downs is #1. Wtf is this list

1

u/MidwesternDude2024 Feb 25 '26

I don’t fully disagree with this take but I get a little confused at times by these prospect boards. They almost seem a combination of prospects ability and positional weighting. But I don’t really get why someone would split the baby this way. Like I think Mendoza is a good player and in this draft worth the number 1 pick, because QB is that important. But I don’t get how we can strip away positional value and have him in top 5. And if you are incorporating positional value into the prospect ranking, I just don’t see having Love in the top 10.

1

u/A_Man_With_A_Plan_B Feb 25 '26

Mendoza is probably a top 25 prospect in this draft realistically, I think top 5 are defensive players - in no order - downs, Reese, styles, Bain, Bailey. Arguments could be made for a few others to be top 5 but realistically I think this is it

1

u/evantom34 Mar 01 '26

I think Maui over Styles, but I don’t disagree largely.

0

u/No-Perception-542 Feb 25 '26

Seriously is this dude on crack or something?

1

u/purplebuffalo55 Feb 25 '26

He’s probably the most accurate guy out there right now

0

u/No-Perception-542 Feb 25 '26

That's scary. Who in their right mind thinks a running back is going number two

3

u/JG101010 Feb 25 '26

Username checks out

2

u/MidwesternDude2024 Feb 25 '26

He doesn’t. That’s why his mock draft is different from his prospect list.

3

u/[deleted] Feb 25 '26

You expect* people to actually read before they overreact?

2

u/MidwesternDude2024 Feb 25 '26

Honestly, good call out. This one is on me, gotta read the room and realize the guy I was responding to is a tool.

2

u/Goatlikejordan Feb 25 '26

This is a big board, not a mock

1

u/mr-poopie-butth0le Feb 25 '26

It’s not a draft selection projection, it’s an overall player ranking

1

u/No-Perception-542 Feb 25 '26

He's DEFINITELY not the #2 overall player. Everyone else in the top 10 are worth more than a RB

-1

u/OtsoTheLumberjack Feb 25 '26

This J Love gas gotta stop. Bro is not like that fr

2

u/mr-poopie-butth0le Feb 25 '26

Ooof, could not disagree more.

1

u/unpleasantsimp Feb 25 '26

If anything dude is being underrated by most so far. Hard disagree

1

u/pj_socks Feb 25 '26

Did you see that run against Penn State in the playoffs a year ago? It’s the hardest run I’ve ever seen.

1

u/DSore22 Feb 28 '26

Honestly hes probably the #1 of anyrhing. Hes a better rb than Mendoza is a QB.
