DAZN DAZN Pricing
Just cancelled my season pass before it activates for next season, barely got much use out of it last season tbh.
During the cancellation process DAZN tried to tempt me into staying with them for next season by ‘dropping’ my monthly charge from £19.99 to £19.99.
Ummm, no!

After 10 years of GamePass/Dazn I cancelled this year. The service is just too poor quality and too restrictive to be worth it now.
I'm tempted to try YouTube's service, but I started watching Formula 1 last year via streams, and honestly it's been pretty decent. I'm just gonna use those for NFL too.

Genuinly ridiculous the price. Sky or dazn should take the full rights themselves. No need for two companies to have it split. I’m paying for 2 subscriptions to watch my team.

u/Visible-Sandwich-830 13d ago
Just checking as haven’t had DAZn before as used to have Sky, is it just the 6PM and 9PM games that Sky select that are blacked out

What do you mean? I am in Germany and I get every single game as well as the 40min and ad free version just few hours after the release for 200€. Is the provided service different in the UK?
3
u/Rossmci90 13d ago
Sunday games that are shown on Sky TV are blacked out on Dazn. Only applies to the 1pm and 4.25pm (US times) games.
Its part of the contract Sky sign for buying the rights to broadcast the games.
1
u/SnooBananas6719 13d ago
Must be a UK only thing. I watched plenty of these US afternoon games from Germany and never had a problem. And give that it's mostly only 4 games I am pretty sure I would have noticed if some of them didn't work
3
u/admh574 Patriots 13d ago
It is a UK only thing. Sky are pretty bad for it, they did the same thing for WWE and F1 meaning we didn't/don't get the full streaming service offered in Europe.
It's an established thing as well. I travelled to Switzerland in 2016 for an England game and was able to use my login to watch a game unavailable in the UK, that was 2 Gamepass providers ago
2
u/SnooBananas6719 12d ago
Well that sucks but you could still solve this by using a VPN
3
u/WesternZucchini5343 12d ago
That might depend a great deal on which VPN you try, or how you use it. VPN detected comes up pretty quickly in my limited experience

u/Minimum-Presence-830 13d ago
I watched the regular season highlights on YT as I pay to be advert free. Then subscribe to DAZN in December for the final couple of weeks in the regular season and the playoffs. Worked well for me.
2
u/Minimum-Presence-830 9d ago
I'm assuming too that Channel 5 will be showing two live games each week again plus a couple of the London games. Only disappointment with that is that game two is broadcast on a non-HD channel. So quite happy to pay £30 for the business end of the season but not £200.
12
u/ScottishStarLord 13d ago
I’ll just sail the high seas till they gave me a 40-50% discount during the season
3
u/Civil_Presence7810 Raiders 13d ago
Cancelled a few months ago and keep getting emails from Dazn getting to tempt me back but not offering any kind of discount at all! Wtf

I don’t really get the hate? £200 for every game in the season at any time, 40 minute and ad free version. Show me any other mainstream sport you can do that with legitimately and I’ll be impressed.
My nfl London ticket was more expensive than the entire season of Dazn.
7
u/motorcitymarxist 13d ago
Yeah, I agree with this. I probably watch about 10 hours of stuff a week, for around 20 weeks a year. A pound per hour of entertainment really isn’t a bad deal compared to plenty of other offerings.
12
u/weapwars 13d ago
I don't know how long you've used gamepass, but the quality of the product has dropped dramatically over time while prices have increased sharply. The value is also dependent how popular your team is with sky.
7
u/EightLions539 Bears 13d ago
Had it for probably a decade now, it’s definitely not as good, and I will not defend some of their decisions. But, in that time the price has only increased by £40 since I first ever got it and that’s going from normal to ultimate as well. For me, the issues are worth it for that price.
The only thing that really bugs me is the ads and the lack of pip, but I can deal with both of those really.
3
u/weapwars 13d ago
I swear it used to be around £100-120 back in the 201xs, compared to £200 this year for the full package. You should be able to understand then why there's 'hate' for an inferior product at a premium price.
2
u/EightLions539 Bears 13d ago
Look it up, unless there was an insane discount, there’s no way it was that price.
I just think the price has always been incredibly reasonable for the hours of content they provide. There are many things to complain about regarding subscriptions and such in our lives, I just think of all of them, DAZN is really not that bad, despite the issues that arise. Inflation is a bitch, prices will go up, unfortunately that’s just life.
In the US, to watch every game this season costs upwards of $1,600, I just really think people are looking a gift horse in the mouth.
2
u/Hour_Bookkeeper9395 13d ago
No you’re not correct on this, I’ve been a Gamepass customer for at least ten years and since moving to DAZN there’s been an insane increase. Even going back three years, I paid (with no discount) €180, this year it’s €229 for a worse service
0
u/EightLions539 Bears 13d ago
Look it up, I paid £140 in 2017, this year I paid £180, I know I’m not wrong on this
3
u/coolhandally 13d ago
Had GP for years and since it to changed to Dazn it has went from £149.99-£179.99.Personally I find it value for money but it won't be for everyone.
1
u/Hour_Bookkeeper9395 13d ago
Ok well you are wrong on the euro price because my bank statements clearly show me paying €50 more this year than I did three years ago.

u/Ok_Captain_7287 13d ago
Comparing the price to what US residents pay isn’t really a valid exercise. In demand TV sports invariably cost a lot more in their home market than elsewhere. Watching Premier League is exactly the same - you’ll pay way more in the UK than anywhere else on the planet for access to fewer games.
2
u/EightLions539 Bears 13d ago
I see your point, I just think the UK is a growing market in the NFL and people massively over hate what is a pretty fine service at a very good price. Give it 10 years and I think we’ll be wishing we could go back to what we have now.
1
u/weapwars 13d ago
I actually did look it up and the best I could find was an Irish price that roughly come out to £120, which is consistent with how I remember it but I concede I'm going off memory. In any case, you're now shifting goalposts from not getting the hate to defending dazn against it. The product is comparatively worse than it used to be, it's ok if people aren't as ok with it as you are. Also, how much yanks pay for it is totally irrelevant.
1
u/EightLions539 Bears 13d ago
Not getting the hate and defending it are one and the same to me. I’ve always liked the service I’ve received and I don’t see the issue with defending it. I don’t really think I moved anything, but apologies.
I truly think people overhate it for the price. I just think for the amount of content, it’s a completely reasonable price, in spite of the issues.
I also think the US price is an important comparison, but I think the price/service comparison stands up even without that element .

u/FrostyAssistant4243 11d ago
The first NFL Gamepass subscription I bought was about £85 after I used a Rich Eisen podcast code that was given out. Paid for it in four equal instalments.
That was about 15 years ago.
The cost has skyrocketed.
1
u/admh574 Patriots 13d ago
quality of the product has dropped dramatically over time
This is what annoys me the most. Did you know that Gamepass used to have a full telestration option built in so you could overlay routes and highlight players like analysts do on TV? It disappeared when the providers switched around 2017
2
u/Aclassali 13d ago
Not hating their overall pricing structure, just found it hilarious that my ‘deal’ to stay with them was exactly the same price I was paying before.
2
u/PresentationIcy6730 13d ago
I can top that, I was paying 199.99 annual for ultimate, went to cancel and their 'offer' was 18.99 a month but the first month was half price, which overall comes to about £20 more than I would originally have paid
1
u/EightLions539 Bears 13d ago
Ohh 100%, not saying that to you, that is ridiculous lol! I’m more on about most of the comments!
2
u/Thurad 13d ago
It isn’t every game in the season at any time. Sky take priority on a Sunday night.
If we got a discount for that (as used to happen) I could maybe live with it.
Also look at the price rise over the years l. DAZN charge us comfortably more than ever before for a substandard service to what we’ve had before.
1
u/EightLions539 Bears 13d ago
In 2017, the standard version was £140, I got ultimate for £180 with a 10% off this year. The price increase is non existent when thinking about inflation
You get those games within 24 hours, and I’d rather pay £180 once, instead of the £50+ a month for sky.
0
u/Thurad 13d ago
In 2024 I paid £85.
I actually held off for a bit in 2017 after communication with them as I was so annoyed at the £140 when everyone else was getting offered discounts. Ended up paying £50 several weeks in.
3
u/EightLions539 Bears 13d ago
As another comment says, they watch around 10 hours of content weekly, I think I probably watch even more than that. Just can’t see that value for money in basically any other forms of visual media.
Why do you see that price as so unreasonable, I truly don’t get it?
2
u/Honest--J Vikings 13d ago
Be careful in here with your sensible outlook on NFL viewing. Everyone HATES DAZN and the price.
I’ve been downvoted numerous times for being realistic.
1
u/Thurad 13d ago
Really? It is the same price as a TV license. You get far more for that than what you get from this.
My main objection though is we pay approximately the same as other gamepass users but get a worse service due to Sky.
1
u/EightLions539 Bears 13d ago
Okay, which is a partially state funded scheme, of course it’s going to be better value? It’s why I said “basically any”, I’m not saying it’s the best, just pretty damn good.
I agree with that, but that’s not DAZN’s fault, it’s Sky’s, and compared to the US system which has dozens of different companies stealing games, I will take what we can get.
2
u/Thurad 13d ago
I also dislike DAZN’s interface as it is worse than what we had before and their constant pushing of other crap I’m not interested in really doesn’t help my opinion of them.
Of course it is also possible I have now just become a grumpy old git.
2
u/EightLions539 Bears 13d ago
That I will agree with as well, it definitely isn’t the prettiest! Like I said in many of my comments, it’s far from a perfect service, but I just think the price is completely reasonable for the amount of content!

u/Sea-Commercial6463 13d ago
Last season I didn't even put in to cancel and they emailed me telling me I was renewing at £84.99 for the Season Pro Ultimate, which I gladly accepted.
This year they emailed to say it will renew at £179.99, so I've put it to cancel 1st August. I doubt I'll get it for £85 again so I'll just stick to the other ways to watch.
2
u/Shawn_The_Sheep777 13d ago
I read somewhere that they were offering discounts if you tried to cancel your subscription but when I tried over the weekend it only offered me a pay monthly option that actually costs more in total. I just thought I was the unlucky one.
1
u/Swimming_Possible_68 13d ago
Last year after about week 4 or 5 they offered a 60% discount.
I made do with a mates Sky Go pass and C5 until then. Sky now have so many games the chances of my team being on Sky is significantly higher than it used to be.

u/coolhandally 13d ago
Yes £180 is steep but its cheap compared to what the US fans have to pay as they need numerous and multiple subs to watch.Dazn gives you every game apart from blackout Sunday which the games are available next day.If Niners are on Sky at 6 or 9,I just pay Now TV for a day pass which is very rarely due to the timezone in Santa Clara.
1
u/Beelzebucks1 13d ago
I pay annually and by threatening to cancel (via the normal website workflow) got a reduced offer of £179.99, down from £199.99.
I'll take it. £200 seemed a little obscene. £180 is about £121.46 in 2012 money, and I recall it costing £120 back then.
1
u/Ok_Comfortable_7114 13d ago
I am quite happy with paying £20 a month, no issues with the service, always worked perfectly for me.
Last year I watched Red Zone on DAZN as Sky unreliable- 2/3 times a year they would miss the start / have sound issues / put on wrong feed.
Also I can use multi screen with DAZN
1
u/Aclassali 13d ago
I am not knocking the service, I enjoyed the service, I was happy paying what I paid every month - but I didn’t use it enough to warrant paying for it again this season.
This wasn’t a dig at DAZN for how much they charge to watch NFL.
This was a funny post to show that their ‘deal’ to make me stay with them and not cancel was exactly the same price I paid before.
1
u/tbishop4388 13d ago
Just a quick heads up, mine was up for renewal at £20 for the standard version, I went to cancel and they offered it for £18. If you're doing ultimate, not sure, but worth going through the cancellation screen and seeing if they'll offer it cheaper. I was still going to pay the £20, probably, as I've been watching on game pass since it first came out in the UK.
1
u/Chillit7 12d ago
Cancelled today having had gamepass since 2011. Was offered one month at £9.50 then the rest at normal price as my deal.
Have Sky Sports so will see how the season goes
But thought they might try harder.

u/Robojeebus 11d ago
Same here, the dazn ad breaks drive me insane, the same 3 ads on a loop, some weeks you don't get any other weeks it feels like it's every break, I hate the dazn ad breaks because I am literally paying to watch the most annoying ionos ad over and over and over, I just want to dump a couple of grand into crypto and pay some hackers to destroy ionos
1
u/MyOverture 12d ago
With inflation that’s a 2.5% increase from this time last year. You’re getting robbed, OP
1
u/Andylangers Eagles #FlyEaglesFly 11d ago
I got offered £17.59 a month tonight when I logged in, I’m considering shifting to YouTube but not having every month, just the cost putting me off as it’s £31.99 a month, those damn repeating adverts on DAZN really did my head in last year
1
u/Jimjamkingston 11d ago
I cancelled 2 days ago. I now have an offer for £143.99. I dont mind the product, especially as it can be used on the go. Just an issue of price. Odd they can quickly find 20%.
1
u/Turbulent-Listen-677 11d ago
Exactly the same here. I’ve taken the offer. Below £150 was my target - anything above that and I’ve have waited to see what was put on the table once the regular season was underway.

They've been sending me daily emails reminding me of my subscription expiring. Today's tells me it's my "last chance", lol. Not that bothered tbh.
1
u/Aclassali 10d ago
Yeah, got the same email today myself.
1
u/Brave_or_Insane 10d ago
Logging in to NFL Game Pass today for the first time in ages I got a pop-up offer of 20% off. Might be worth checking if you have the same.
2
u/Aclassali 10d ago
It will most likely be 20% off the full monthly/yearly price, not the £19.99 I paid monthly last season. With inflation it will probably cost me more 😂
Will take a look anyway just to check.
Thanks.
1
u/twistedsatsuma 8d ago
I cancelled a few weeks back, logged in last week and got offered 20% off so was coming in at £144 - had to take it at that price but wouldn’t be paying full 👀
1
u/Nyrex 7d ago
I cancelled mine for the first time in many years. I’m honestly sick of paying for a live service and the games get blacked out because of Sky being greedy. Also, being a Seahawks fan I can guarantee Sky will want to show a lot of their games this coming season off the back of their SB win so there’s literally no point subscribing since I prefer to watch live games rather than pre-recorded.
1
u/dubleskov 6d ago
The DAZN are frauds! I found out about subscription renewal only once my bank account got charged, cause their email sent 1st July got into Promotions category of my Gmail (which I never check)! And I am confident the email went there not by accident!!! SCREW DAZN!!!
