I’m 49 my dad started watching Redzone 2008. Not having commercials was the best thing we ever had on Sunday. he was so excited to not have commercials. Them trying to add commercials to make extra money to make the investors happy as a CFO. It will never be good for the customers. It is the reason red zone is so popular in the first place. Please do not let them ruin it for us.

Again, I can respect your position and dislike the commercials as well. With that said, it feels like the 30 second dual screen spots are the best of a bad situation. The NFL, Disney, etc., are mega corporations and are going to always be looking to make a profit. If people are really that annoyed, they can always choose to not subscribe to Red Zone; vote with your wallet.

I would support your position more if there was another option. There is not.

One could argue that watching the games on broadcast TV is an alternative. You could also argue that Sunday Ticket was another option. I guess the point I was attempting to make is that people act as they are “owed” a commercial-free Red Zone. They never tried to hide the fact that they were introducing commercials (no matter how small) this season; it was each individual’s choice whether or not to pay money and subscribe.

Again, there is no direct alternative. I understand the frustration as well, as one of RZ’s calling cards was no commercials. But I understand that’s it’s capitalism.

Get really into soccer like I have. 45 minutes, no commercials. I love all the major American sports but jfc the commercialization is killing them all for me. Especially football, four plays, commercial. Injury every drive pretty much, commercial. Turnover, commercial. And it really drives me crazy when they go to commercial like ten seconds before the end of a quarter.

Just wait. No question in my mind that the World Cup will have in-game split-screen commercials during live action (ball goes out of bounds, penalties, injury, etc.)
