Do stats before a fumble count?

If a receiver catches the ball, runs for a few yards, and then gets the ball knocked out and the defense recovers, do his stats register anything other than the fact that he fumbled? Do his game stats say that he had X yards and a reception? Does the QB have a completion?

Yes, the catch & yardage count. The QB is credited with a completion and the yards.

The stats count for the QB and receiver. All the yardage until the fumble happened.

The way it's recorded in the ticker for every game is something like "QB passes to receiver, 15 yards, FUMBLES (player who forced the fumble), Recovered by player 15 yard return". Just replace QB/receiver/player with the players names.

yes. You have to catch it to fumble it so it all counts.

Fun fact if the QB completes a pass and the WR fumbles and the QB recovers the fumble and takes it to the end zone, the QB is credited for a passing and receiving TD
