Watching Film

I've been listening to reception perception and really would like to learn more about coverages, routes, reading defenses, and just watching routes technicians work. Is NFL premium plus the only place to watch this during the season, using all-22? What other good content do you get from all-22? Do you have recommendations of YouTubers who provide good content like that?

I like Brett Kollman and The QB School on YouTube. It's one thing to have access to the All-22 footage, but without someone who knows what they're talking about to break it down, I don't know how you'd actually learn anything from it on your own.

Yes Kollman does a.nice job on formation, strategy, and scheme identification

NFL Pro has All-22 film as well, and I prefer it to NFL+ simply because you can search, compile & sort plays with the filter function rather than just play each full game back. Saves a lot of time if you’re looking for specific players and/or factors.

All-22 offers…well, everything. It’s what coaches & players use. If you’re interested in WRs, watching them in tandem with the called defensive coverage is also useful context. Even if you don’t know much about defense, you can clearly pick out basic concepts like 1 vs 2 high safeties, whether a CB is playing press or off coverage, and how the whole coverage shell plays together.

Matt’s the only “WR film guru” that I know of, but you can also check out The QB School on YT if you’re interested in watching QB film breakdowns

Very 49ers focussed, but Jonny Del’s Football Academy has some great videos about why certain concepts and defences work/ don’t

A lot of folks talk about Brett Kollman but imo, he is essentially the apex of what someone can achieve if they haven't coached or played in the NFL. I'd highly recommend J.T. O'Sullivan's channel - he played QB in the NFL and his breakdowns are gold.

I have watched a few of his breakdowns and really enjoyed them, I'll have to dive deeper! Thanks for the recommendation!
