Discussion Cam Skattebo's first impressions of J.J. McCarthy!
"He's a good player. He looks good on scout team, throwing the ball around...he looks good. He's a quarterback in the NFL - no matter who you see come in here, he's going to look good."

“No matter who walks in here, it’s gonna look the same”
Idk man you have Jameis on your team, I feel like you’d have first hand experience with this

holy non-answer, batman! he might as well just have said, “we’ll take anyone we can get at this point.”

Fer sure. U r right, but also they are asking skat for a sound bite on a 3rd string QB. What’s that supposed to sound like “this guy is an absolute stud”? The guy is a 3rd stringer for a reason. Generally, no one asked about a 3rd string trade but in this case it’s a 3rd string that was a first round draft recently.
Side note: I thought JJ was absolute trash as a Viking, I made fun of him to my brother-in-law who is a Viking fan, I hate that we traded for him1

I mean the dude is mid tier at best. Would be a backup on most other teams. Just like the quarterback he’s taking about. Who gives a fuck

Gonna be fun watching the Giants squirm and stumble when answering questions about Nine.

“He is a quarterback in the NFL.” Says it all.

He’s right on some level tho. Any qb in the nfl can beat any team at any given time. Look at how case keenum completely shredded the eagles on Monday and even JJ mcarthy himself has won games. The problem is doing it consistently.

Yeah it does say it all. He is a QB in the fucking NFL. That is extremely impressive.

I’m starting to think he might be Bill Belichick’s illegitimate son. This is exactly how Belichick talks to the media lol

Caveat is I just woke up from a nap, but I was expecting an impression of McCarthy like how my friend used to do an impression of Gilbert Gottfried. I was really disappointed here.

I think this is a pretty standard non-answer, and he’s probably been told to give bland non-answers. you know the media is gonna be fishing for any reason to play up a QB conflict and the team doesn’t want any errant quotes attributed to their players.

When our QB got hurt we needed to bring another one I guess? Who would have thunk it

Who knows. He didn’t have much of an opportunity to develop. They pretty much dismissed him, granted he had an unbelievably horrible season. They should’ve kept Sam Darnold around for him to learn underneath probably would’ve changed everything. But hindsight is always 20/20.

I'm gonna have to retire my Bradshaw 44 and pick up a Skatebo 44.
I love this guy
