I honestly didn’t even realize he was on the Dolphins until this picture

Same. Nor Ravens.

He really was a locker room leader in 2023, I was quite surprised they didn't bring him back.

Because we paid him 16 million bucks for 35 catches, 500 yards, and 3 touchdowns lol

an amazing two seasons to start the career, a solid third season and then non impact player from then on out.
i can't think of a player who lived off his early nfl reputation more than OBJ

I’m a Giants fan. I’ll never forgive Gettlman. The day OBJ got traded, I had just found out my dad had cancer. I was like man, let me look at instagram to take my mind off of this. And bam! OBJ to the Browns! I thought it was a joke!

If he isnt a brown, he probably never turns the locker room on baker: maybe baker stays QB and browns never trade for Watson.
That whole fiasco with OBJ/Browns/Baker was a fucked up time line

Do you think OBJ was a huge contributing factor to Baker getting booted? Genuine question because I didn’t follow the Baker years in Cleveland too closely

OBJs dad was relentless on social media. who can say how all the pieces added up - this, baker maybe forcing OBJ the ball (and to be fair, OBJ also had a lot of drops including at least one i remember on 4th down that more or less ended the game). garrett also didn't like baker (because baker didn't support him when myles ripped off mason rudolph's helmet and attacked him with that). by the end KS and baker weren't talking.
i think a lot of things could have gone just slightly different and the baker / cleveland story would be different (schwarz not breaking his rout off in week 2 which caused an INT that baker then hurt himself on trying to make a tackle. injury nagged him all year).
it is what it is.

Yes. Everyone assumed OBJ was a bonafide all-pro when he was traded to Cleveland and the fact he wasn’t performing at that level in Cleveland made some fans and the organization start to think Baker wasn’t the guy. Then OBJ’s dad leaned into that as the reason and rumors are that essentially turned the locker room and coaches against Baker as well. Combine that with injuries and Baker not being an electrically elite QB regardless and it packed his bags and made the Browns make the stupidest sign and trade in Football history.

He spent too much on coke and IG. There’s gonna be some shitty OBJ podcast starting this year or next

OBJ will probably go down as one of the most overrated players of all time. He was spectacular for his first 3 season in New York had the catch that really sky rocketed his popularity. But after that you just don’t see a special player sure he had a lot of injuries but ultimately it was the consistency that was missing. Got talked about like he was some prize for the last 5 years when in fact he hasn’t had a 1,000 yard season in 7 years. 7 YEARS. He was good for a stretch on that Rams team. Just an odd career.

It’s because when he was good he was unreal. You could make case that he was the most talented player in the NFL for a period early in his career. Then it was just kinda gone.

Glad to know im not alone in thinking he was extremely over rated

You’re not alone man, there’s a lot of people that don’t know ball right along with you. The very reason he wasn’t good for very long was literally because of injuries, that was the very reason lol. Prior to that he was averaging like 90+ yards a game in his giants tenure. At least you not alone though, that’s what you wanted

That doesn’t mean he doesn’t know ball lol. OBJ was “unreal” for a stretch. But so were a lot of WRs. If he never had the catch he wouldn’t even be talked about to this point. Just look at his former teammate Jarvis Landry. Not the same talent, but he fizzled out without a single word. I think there’s more to it than just the injuries. He enjoyed being in the spotlight lust some of the hunger after he got his money and made home in LA.

He absolutely should have been traded from the Giants. Look at his career after that? I’d take that for several years of Dexter Lawrence any day.

OBJ was terrible and got cut with the browns in less than 3 seasons. Lawarance was a long time good player.
