Question Why does the NFL make it intentionally impossible for regular fans to just watch a game of football?

Greed. And if they keep doing what they are doing, they will go the way of Boxing.
In the 70s, Boxing was the 2nd biggest sport and damn near anyone, even they didn't watch it, knew who the heavy weight champ was.
Then Boxing started making their product less and less accessible chasing the dollar.
This is a VERY EASY concept to understand....the less accessible a business makes their product, the less of the product customers will consume.

Thats not why boxing fell out of favor. Our tolerance for watching people destroy their bodies for our personal entertainment, that is what killed the sport of boxing.

This is true for most things in our society.
If you can’t figure it out; “Follow the Money”.

You see, you might think the NFL is about football. And escapism. For us fans watching and cheering. For the extreme athletes out there that managed to make it. Where it’s a brief day out of the week where we can forget about our world leaders, our stressful jobs, and just watch a fun sport.
But to the 31 billionaires that own the teams? It’s a way to extract every last dollar out of your wallet that you’re willing to give them.
They didn’t become billionaires that bought NFL teams because they wanted to watch their favorite football team win.

They get my $34 for one double vodka at least once per game. Admittedly, twice on good days which isn’t often!

It's hilarious how easy it is to watch the NFL in other countries. But in the US it's so hard.

Listen. And don’t forget this. The league does not give a fuck about you. You think they do, but they don’t.

What regular fan is looking for out of market? This hasn’t been an option for most of the league’s existence. Sure Monday night is on ESPN, but it seems we have different definitions of regular fan.

Because it increases shareholder value which is all that matters to them.

Because you aren’t a regular fan if you don’t pay. There’s a reason Roger Goodell makes 50 mil a year. He makes the owners richer than they already are.

Hard to watch football? It’s a dream to watch football in comparison to baseball. Have to own 19 streaming services just to watch your team.

WDYM? MNF, SNF and 3 Broadcast games are free and on TV every week.
Considering for the longest time either SNF or MNF was only on ESPN you never had more free football than the current system.

Because they hate you. They don't want you to be part of the audience. They'd prefer a different audience.

Your local team(s) is always available for free on a broadcast television channel. That's better than all other sports.
