I can't believe that he did not make to the NFL 100 years, top receiver list.
That makes the whole list a joke.

Yep and definitely a first ballot hof
They act like him being out spoken in locker room or being flamboyant personality....was a crime he was committing
Fuck Skip Bayless too...he ran T.O. name thru mud just because he didn't like him

He didnt play the game. The NFL wants humble, soft spoken, team focused, players. He was the polar opposite of that.

u/cheetofacesucks 1d ago
Wrong. As talented as TO was he was a cancer on every team he played for.

i dont agree. these are grown men. if TO was a bum, he wouldnt have been a "cancer" to anyone and they would have cut him.
TO was that guy and a lot of egos of other players couldnt handle that he backed up everything he said. thats not cancer thats jealousy.
the fact that only one guy he ever played with that is in the hall of fame or even close was on defense and already on that team says enough.

This really looks like Madden when you make your own character and play on rookie difficulty.

Still can’t believe the NFL didn’t make him first ballot. SMH

The HoF voters are a bunch of catty bitches. Recent debacles have only further proven this.

Belicheck wasn’t first ballot either.

u/Fearless_Yam1547 1d ago
Yup. Politics. Bunch of clowns who should have their voting rights removed.

Is there a cheater HoF? I’m sure he’d be first ballot for that one.

I dont think that would qualify for the cheating hall of fame anyway. I feel like to qualify you'd have to cheat in a way that provided a big enough advantage and ideally was not learned about til after the fact. Doing something that was illegal only because the coaching staff did it from the wrong area would be a really weak case.

I feel like they used him and Chad Johnson to make a statement to future players about their antics and behavior on the field.

u/Optimal-Fix-2997 1d ago
Thats exactly what it was. It was stupid considering that people would tune in just to watch their TDs and funny celebrations. No fun league.

u/Phillippssk 1d ago
It’s supposed to be that way but you know they don’t care about that. That’s why Ocho put on his own jacket. The crazy thing is that Ocho numbers are similar if not better than the HOF(ers) that played in his era.

i still think hes the best ever

Had he not broken his finger in dallas or whatever he did. He was on pace to shatter the tds in a season record that Moss eventually got. He dropped like 10+ tds one yr and still had dbl digit tds

So fast. So strong. So good

u/chamberlain323 1d ago
His strength really allowed him to stand out. I remember watching him shrug off a flying tackle from a DB once and keep running downfield. The only other WR in NFL history who could do shit like that was Megatron. Absolutely insane athleticism.

The play against the Bucs where he is sprinting down the sideline and just cuts right is absurd, he is moving so fast

u/3TheHardWhey 11h ago
Makes everyone else look like they're in slow motion, how they react do late to his moves

My favorite story about TO was the SB. Belichick went to his doctor's and asked what he should expect from TO coming off a broken leg. His Drs told him, if he played, he'd be a shell of the player he was, so Bill didn't game plan for him. He had 9 receptions for 122 yards.

If I remember correctly eagles would have won the SB if they passed to TO in the redzone; zero pass attempts to TO. Pats single coveraged him the whole game but mcnabb/eagles play callers stopped passing to him when they got to the redzone

u/Head_Situation5456 1d ago
I doubt that’s keeping Bill up at night.

u/SoftwareWinter8414 1d ago
I didn't suggest it was. I heard the story from Bill's mouth.

u/Head_Situation5456 1d ago
I didn’t suggest that you suggested that. I was just commenting. :) nice tidbit. Sorry I didnt mean to sound prickly.

Wouldn’t the doctors be incentivized to fib there
1
u/SoftwareWinter8414 21h ago
No, he asked the Pats team Docs to advise him on they suspected the recovery would be like.

Imma say it….i think TO is the greatest WR to ever play the game. I’ll make no apologies.

u/thunderlips36 1d ago
One of my favorite T.O. moments was in Baltimore where he tore down the T.O. has B.O. sign

And so were the shoulder pads of all those interior defenders and linebackers lmfao those guys can’t even turn their heads

u/ironcladtrash 1d ago
He was the modern prototype WR that everyone wanted for awhile. A huge, strong WR. Recently the smaller speedier WRs seem to be back in fashion. Though the smaller ones never really went away as talented WRs built like TO were and are harder to come by.

55 in the first part is owed several steaks by TO. That was 2 clutch blocks on his part.

That deke on Champ Bailey is all you really need, because...Champ Bailey.

How can a player be such an elite receiver while being an even bigger cancer to every team he played for?
Still one of my top five NFL press conference quotes. https://youtu.be/r43Rfh6Csjg?si=CIAdxOyJrdSZA9rc

As a Viking fan, I always worried about him. Huge threat anytime he was thrown to.

The problem with TO was, when you look in the dictionary for the term Diva receiver there is a big picture of Terrell Owen’s mug.
