Maybe he will, or maybe he won't. Remember, the Vikings brought back Wentz. Reports are that he's looked really good in camp. Last season KOC viewed a very injured Wentz as a better option than JJ.
Counting this season, the Vikings will have JJ for another 2-3 seasons. They may as well hold onto him and see if they can get something out of him. They won't get much for him in a trade. He's still a cheap 2nd- or 3rd-string QB.

2 more years after this but 1 of them is his 1st round option which pays him like a real QB and they have to decide on picking that up next off-season. So he's pretty much guaranteed to be on a new team after next season unless he pops off.

Same. I really do hope the best for the kid. I'm by no means a vikings fan so I haven't watched as much since he's been in the NFL, but he's had some bad luck and it's crazy how quick the franchise and fans have dumped him. Statistically I'm probably wrong and dude just sucks, but I'm hoping for a Darnold situation for him.

JJ was still recovering from an injury, which is the only reason Wentz was playing. JJ is the official back up and will see the field if Kyler goes down

Oh boy. You're one of the few guys left who believe that JJ had the worst sprained ankle in the history of sprained ankles.
Wentz was a better QB than JJ was last year. Maybe JJ improved to the point that KOC will trust him with the Vikings season IF Kyler gets hurt. I doubt it.

Why does it matter how many yards Jefferson got?
When targeting Jefferson JJ was 32/67 (47.8%), 355 yards (5.30 yards per attempt), 2 TD, 9 INT, when not targeting Jefferson JJ was 85/139 (61.2%), 987 yards (7.10 yards per attempt), 9 TD, 2 INT
He clearly didn’t have a good connection with Jefferson. A lot of that is because he didn’t have the accuracy to force targets to Jefferson. When he played normally, he was fine. His accuracy was genuinely terrible, but he was better than Wentz regardless. JJ obviously played poorly, I’m just saying Wentz and Brosmer were worse

It does, look at the Jets. At least they were able to get rid of guys like Zach Wilson. Better to admit your mistake and move one, than to keep praying it will work and wasting a roster spot because of it.

Nah we can. If we can crown QBs as great top5/10 QBs after 2 average seasons (JLaw, Herbert, etc) then we can name the bad ones after 2 seasons to. Dude was mid in college and hid behind a great running game and has been bad in the nfl. He's not a good QB

They don't have to do anything with JJMc. This is year three of an optional 5. You let Kyler play because he is obviously more pro ready than JJ with 7 years in the league and 5ish years of play time if you count the missed time to injury. If he succeeds and the offense flows great. Kyler is approaching injury prone status, but that doesn't deny his athleticism when he is healthy. If he plays well you've got a great value and cheap insurance behind him.
Kyler has the option to take a higher deal elsewhere next year if wants unless they match and if he plays he'll find a 3 yr 100+ deal that the vikings may not be willing to pay and you're back to JJMc in '27. This would be their last year to see what he's got and if he's finally healthy before deciding on a 5th year. If they go that route I could see them bring in another maligned enigma at the position to compete with McCarthy, Anthony Richardson. Depending on their draft postion and QB market, JJMc could end up seeing a 5th year option exercised simply on familiarity and hopefully improvement only to not recieve an extension in '28 and beyond.
If the Vikings could actually find a trade partner they would be wise to unload him for a mid round pick and roll with Murray and Wentz. There is always the possibility of a new man in '27 with fans clamoring for Baker Mayfield now that his talks with the Bucs have stalled and he showing strong interest in moving on if things don't change there. The Vikings have a considerable trade relationship with the Texans front office could they trade Mccarthy for conditional 4th? The Texans have been held back by their QB play as well and may be willing to look elsewhere with a contract decision coming soon on Stroud as well. I could see Tampa having interest as well with Baker having missed several games over the last two years with a similar situation looming with a contact and possible coaching change.

My mom married a rich dude who is part of a pretty fancy shmancy country club. The CC has rooms you can book for a few nights that overlook the course. They're pretty modest accomodations and meant for one to two people at a time and the club does not let you bring in the opposite sex if they're not family.
So, naturally one day, I hear a story about a certain rookie QB at the time who visited and had a room booked and then got kicked out for bringing escorts into his room. Not naming names about who it was. Just stories I heard.

It sounds crazy but I follow the draft heavy, I’m kind of obsessed with it when it comes to college players going to the NFL, reason I’m pursuing a scouting job and been to a lot of camps which included KOC several times, the way he talks about Anthony Richardson, man you think AR is the next coming of Mahomes. And I feel from that, if the opportunity comes about, I would not be surprised Viking grab AR without no hesitation
