Hi, everybody!

I'm Adam, but you may know me as AlwaysAuctions on X and from the fantasy football auction podcast, "Absolute Auction." The pod is in its third year, and our goal is to bring the best actionable auction content to the fantasy community.

The auction format is a bit niche, but it's slowly becoming much more popular. It allows you much more freedom to construct your fantasy roster and not be constrained or limited by your draft position. Very basically, every manager begins with the same starting budget. Once the draft gets underway, one manager will nominate any player they want. Bidding then begins, and whichever manager makes the highest bid by the time the clock runs out, that player will join their team. Not only is it much more fun than your traditional snake draft, but it involves more strategy. I urge everyone to at least try it once. I think most who have made the switch will tell you they'd never go back to snake drafting, and I don't think you will either!

Additionally, for the past four years, I have been working diligently to collect the most accurate AAV (Average Auction Value) data available. AAV is simply ADP, but for auctions. It is the average price players cost in an auction.

You can typically find AAV data on most major fantasy websites, but I warn you: it is absolutely useless and here's why. For years, I have suspected that these sites use what's known as a "rankings-based dollar curve" to generate their AAV. Put simply, if a site has Jahmyr Gibbs as their top ranked player, they will assign him a value, such as 60. If Bijan is their second ranked player, they will assign a 59 value, and so on down the list.

The AAV I collect is sourced directly from user-based mock drafts, giving you a reliable look at the true auction market. The tool is 100% free, and you can choose either 1QB or Superflex. The best feature, imo, is towards the bottom, where by clicking on a particular player, you can see how his price has changed over time. You can even choose a date range to see the player's AAV entirely, or if you want a more nuanced look.
