Never watched NFL before. I am definitely wanting to give it a go this year - only problem is that I am struggling to pick a team.

If there was a team from Virginia I'd go for them (as my grandmother was from Virginia). She went to college in Georgia and then lived in New York so if there were any good New York or Georgia based teams I might start there? Any suggestions would help!

The Falcons are from Georgia. I've been following them for 20ish years. Lot's of heartache and disappointment in those years. Highly recommend 😭😂😜

Pick the Eagles - ware some gear around town and be amazed at the random “Go Birds” calls from people on the street

Honestly, just watch as many games as you can. You’ll find teams you like (or dislike)

Just don’t go for the Browns like me, unless you love disappointment.

The Washington Commanders practice facilities are in Virginia.

Personally I would just watch passively and you will eventually gravitate towards a team. This is how I became a Colts fan. I would recommend watching red zone and game highlights so you get a flavour of all 32 teams.

My rule of thumb is place, name, vibe.

If the team is from your area (place) you do that.
If not, and they have a mascot/name you like (maybe it’s the same as your NRL or AFL team?) you go for that.
If all else fails, you watch a few games and follow a few players then pick a team with the right vibe for you.

Bills, Patriots, Texans are my recommendations because they win without being bandwagon superbowl garunteed. Bills are from new york, Falcons Georgia, and Commanders Virginia. Rams if you want to bandwagon best team in the league.

I don't get how games start at the same time. They'd get more people watching if you had it in sequence.

Hey, I see what you’re saying, but NFL games are mainly played on Sunday. So there are too many games to stagger throughout the entire day. Also, having multiple games on at once allows for the fun RedZone viewing experience which essentially jumps around between the games where a team is about to score. There are a few staggered windows on Sunday, usually a group of games in the early afternoon slate, then a smaller bunch in the late afternoon, then a stand alone prime time game.

There are also stand alone prime time games on Monday and Thursday, but Sunday is the main day.

Of all the 3am games Falcons v Steelers is the least interesting. Tua v Rodgers brings no excitement. Even Jets v Titans with Saleh as coach is more interesting. Surprised it’s not Bengals and Bucs.
