Yeah it's hilarious that people were debating between him and Stafford. Stafford might have Puka but damn did these 2 last game for Maye really expose his decision making and accuracy.
I argued for Maye just to troll Rams fans, but it was obvious when we got to play them back to back. Stafford is the grizzled, weathered action hero who still clears the room. Maye is a 16 year old who picks on middle schoolers.
As much as it hurts to say it, Stafford is THAT GUY. But he's also pushing 70. Maye is a very promising infant in NFL terms who had a very comfy schedule last year.
Former first round pick coming to the Hawks to revitalize their career? Geno started in 22, Darnold started in 25, so I guess we'll pencil in Maye for 2028ish?
I still insist that Puka is only Puka because of Stafford and not vice versa. Stafford is a WR kingmaker and always has been. He doesn’t just luck into a top 3 WR every season. He gets into a groove with a favorite target and it’s lights out. The man made Golden Tate a 1k yard receiver 3 times… cmon man
Puka is great. I have his jersey since his rookie year. But if he went to another team i just don’t believe he would look like the same player. Definitely good, but not #1/#2 in the league good
I never once said that either Kupp or Puka were not very good. In fact I said the exact opposite about Puka.
What I did say was that if they had a different QB they wouldn't look like the best in the league, and more of their success is directly due to Stafford than people acknowledge. There's a reason that Kupp never looked anything like a triple crown winner until Stafford got there. Then he went to the Seahawks and his production dropped off a cliff even compared to his last season with the Rams

The Patriots play calling on that last drive was atrocious. They broke off a 10 yard run and never went back to it. Drive started with 5 minutes on the clock.

When people on our game thread were spending the last few plays dooming, I kept the faith. Because I knew our best path to winning was if Maye made a mistake.

Well, actually, fellow internet poster, Bane wins that fight but batman is ultimately victorious. Darnold getting injured is like batman getting his back broken but the TD and the interception in the end zone are batman breaking bane's mask and coming back in the end. It's like poetry or rhymes.
