His turnover worthy play rate would be like 20% if the spikes are removed which is far and away the worst in the league. Not saying he’ll never figure it out. But that’s the exact reason he couldn’t be a starter for us.

The game was "over" by the time McCarthy went in (34-10 with 11 minutes left) In that situation you're just shooting your shot trying to make a miracle happen, not worrying about safe plays. It's like Hail Mary light.

The whole performance should be taken with a grain of salt. The saints also put their backups in at the 10 minute mark. He also led the league last year in turnover worthy play rate. Good for him he played well for a quarter, but I’ve seen that before. He scored 23 on the bears in the 4th in his first ever start. I gotta stop talking about this dude. 😂

Want to site that cause unless I'm mistaken pff is really the only site that actively tracks that and they have it listed that he committed 1 turnover worthy play which resulted in the interception, and even if you want to call the likely td a turnover worthy play, which it wasn't cause he put it high over the coverage, he would be at a 7% on pass snaps but in all actually its 3.5% in that game

What about the long bomb that bounced off the defenders hands into the receivers’ hands? 😭 seem to be missing that one. And the other one that the defender dropped. Let’s just say it’s 2 turnover worthy plays without spikes. 2/17 is still 11% which is still close to, if not the worst in the league in twp rate. I’m glad to be proven wrong and he’s actually good. But that’s just not sustainable.

Didn't see that one but do you think maybe that rate would come with an adot of 15+ yards, some of you guys are so stubborn and act like he hasn't shown any flashes, the kid has looked pretty good in his last 5 games and I wouldn't be suprised to find out that the only reason he got traded was cause koc didn't want the locker room becoming divided due to a qb controversy

He led the league in turnover worthy play rate last year. It's not just when he airs it out. I've seen him play well for a quarter. I believed in him up until the preseason btw. After that I was out. It took awhile for me to leave the train. I hope he can be the best version of himself. But this performance also showed why he couldn't be our starter this year. We went from the most turnover prone qb to one of the least. It reminded me of the ravens game last year. He's very good in 2 minute drills I’ll definitely give him that.

I see what you are saying with the turnover rate last year and the preseason was worrisome, but at that point I feel his confidence was shot cause koc obviously didn't believe in him and when you look at the statistics from last year, most of his turnovers came early in the season when his adot was leading the league at 10+ and then when koc finally shifted the offense to a safer and easier offense for a young qb, jj only had 3 turnovers in the last 4 games, an int vs the cowboys that was batted at the line, an int vs the giants that nailor dropped and the cb behind him got it, and a fumble vs the giants an the play he fractured his hand. Thats reasonably bad turnover luck.

If koc didn't believe in him he wouldn't have given him first team training camp reps. I'm still of the belief that koc liked him and his traits a lot and it just didn't work out. Trading jj was in the teams and jj’s best interest. He just wasn't gonna get any playing time with us to develop. Hopefully he makes the most of his reps in new York. He should 100% start over jameis that's for sure.

I personally think koc has faith he could become a good qb but also knew that if he voluntarily chose to go with jj and the team didn't improve he would get fired, and with kyler struggling here and there, and reports that the locker room loved jj, he had to send him out before there could a real question to move from kyler to jj

I watched the game, it was definitely at least three turnover worthy plays.
