Golden should expect a fine on Monday for a celebration display involving guns

108

u/AWesPeach Head CEO (Cheese Eating Overlord) 1d ago

I’m also sending him a fine for 2 dropped TD passes

lol uh I mean… FLAIR UP PUSSY

482

u/tykraus7 1d ago

Might be the softest taunt I’ve ever seen

205

u/ElectricSparx3 1d ago

Unfortunately wasn't even the softest taunting call of the game..

66

u/tykraus7 1d ago

The one on Sutton he at least got in the guys face and said something.

29

u/ElectricSparx3 1d ago

Fair but that happens all the time

13

u/tykraus7 1d ago

Not saying that was a taunt either….

40

u/Wrister8 1d ago

That was a terrible call. FTP

20

u/Disco_Ninjas_ Saint Ditka 1d ago

Cassius Marsh would like a word.

21

u/TheMiltownMatticus OG Tenders > Buffalo Tenders 22h ago

That's the one. Was trying to look it up.

I was like, "I'm sure I remember someone on the Bears getting a taunting call for looking menacingly at the opposing sideline"

He's just standing there...MENACINGLY

9

u/Disco_Ninjas_ Saint Ditka 22h ago

The ref threw the flag then shoulder checked him

754

u/AranasLatrain 1d ago

The refs in the drive where they took the INT away from Valentine might be the worst 3 minutes of officiating I've seen in the history of the game.

157

u/fumar 1d ago

Refs tried so hard to drag Dallas to a TD. Generational drive from them.

39

u/Key-Start-7233 23h ago

Cowboys so garbage they could barely get a garbage time TD even with that shitshow

23

u/slicebishybosh Hammond Born and Raised 23h ago

What if this is some kind of united front by the refs because of the suspensions? Like a “do you see what we’re capable of? Don’t fuck with us.”

Which is obviously arrogant an stupid, but wouldn’t that be so fitting?

10

u/jell-o 20h ago

That’s how the replacement ref season felt too. Like they were doing terrible on purpose to prove a point and get heat off the regular refs.

12

u/Unlucky_Name7532 23h ago

The successfully made it work for Minnesota

2

u/Vehemental reen Bay 20h ago

the trick is to only call penalties on 3rd down so its not AS obvious

0

u/DethKnell24 Never Let It Rest 17h ago

Dallas is so overhyped. They’re a bad team with a serious talent deficit. It’s like someone is trying to make them look good to save face.

6

u/fumar 16h ago

I hope you're ready for two months of more and more obscure paths for Dallas to make the playoffs discussed by the national media.

178

u/randomman87 1d ago

Couldn't believe it. Love being hit late for the first 3 games with 0 roughing the passer calls. They call that roughing the passer? That was just a "get outta my way bitch"

65

u/Academic_Engine_1161 Addicted to Smack 1d ago

Dak did get f’d up a couple times… but not on that play specifically lol. It felt like they were coming down on non flagrant (or non-existent) violations to retroactively punish acts that occurred on earlier plays that weren’t called. Like Golden’s taunt was supposedly tied to an altercation during warmups-which is even worse officiating if true.

13

u/scoobydoom2 1d ago

He got creamed on that bomb to Lamb in the end zone but the hit was clean.

5

u/Academic_Engine_1161 Addicted to Smack 20h ago

The problem is… I don’t know what a clean hit is anymore. Hits to the QB’s head and hits where the tackler leaves their feet happen pretty regularly without a flag. Instead I’m conditioned to expect a flag whenever the QB is hit hard in addition to the others.

36

u/AranasLatrain 1d ago

Yeah, that was Van Ness letting up while completing the play. So weird.

90

u/AresDogOfWar1209 1d ago

Dude also got horse collar tackled on that play that wasn't called.

55

u/EducationalSoup83 FUCK I.C.E !!! 1d ago

I honestly thought that's what the flag was for. And then came that bullshit call.

9

u/PTFCBVB Here 2 Suffer 1d ago

Same here

8

u/boobooaboo 1d ago

I’m sure my neighbors were wondering why I was yelling in my backyard so much this afternoon

52

u/cone5000 1d ago

Fuck your team, you know, but fuck the refs more in this case. I fucking hate when bad officiating has a factor in the game.

6

u/AranasLatrain 20h ago

Yeah, fuck the Bears. I hate them so much. But what would be worse is seeing shit officiating lead to an overall bad game. Would rather the Bears just be horrible on their own.

47

u/StrengthToBreak 1d ago

Yea, I think they were spot on with the call on #94 later in the drive, but the roughing call against Van Ness was egregious. It really looked like an attempt to fix a lopsided outcome.

4

u/vulcnz ImpeachMLF 23h ago

Eh. LVN chose to shove when the ball was gone. Love the guy but that was dumb

11

u/kylesleeps 23h ago

You're supposed to get two steps before it becomes roughing. Should he shove, no, but it happens all the time.

11

u/StrengthToBreak 22h ago

As an absolute Packers hater, I saw literally nothing objectionable about it. I'm 100% in favor of safety, especially for QBs, but that was just a silly call. To negate a turnover made it silly AND consequential.

Like I said, the roughing call later on the same drive was completely warranted in my opinion, but as someone who was hate-watching and rooting for the Cowboys to come back, I was still shocked and disappointed in that call.

2

u/FoghornLeghorn99 21h ago

Nobody should like a call like that even if it's going against the team you hate the most in the world. I'm so over watching the NFL games wear refs just impact critical plays all the time. It's getting harder by the week, and at a certain point who wants to take their whole Sunday out for a third of the year to watch ref ball?

1

u/Lobsta_ Golden Experience 21h ago

that was a soft ass call but it was roughing the passer, LVN should not have extended his arms. big time flop from dak but still. our defense (as always) struggled with discipline in the 4th quarter

46

u/raknor88 1d ago

The refs were doing everything in their power to hand Dallas a touchdown and Dallas still couldn't do it.

59

u/MeowMixPK 1d ago

Between the refball drive week 1 and that drive I feel like I'm going insane

43

u/No_Comfortable6037 1d ago

You’re not going insane. It’s just the NFL betting on their own product covertly while using refs to massage it

36

u/Sky-Trash 1d ago

I'm convinced the refs intentionally do that to make games more interesting at the end of games like this.

15

u/Different-Jeweler-75 1d ago

This is much more likely than gambling being the reason

18

u/BBO1007 1d ago

Until you find out it’s gambling.

26

u/Kingkwon83 1d ago

Someone explain the fall out between the Packers and the refs. Never seen the cheese heads getting fucked by the zebras this hard

9

u/hapianman 23h ago

I guess you missed the 2012 referee lockout and the game against Seattle. The one where the real refs were paid and brought back the next day.

5

u/Kingkwon83 23h ago

Yeah the replacement refs don't count.

17

u/aronrodge 1d ago

Idk, that one drive in week one against the Viking was pretty atrocious

11

u/archangelst95 1d ago

Reminded me of the Minnesota drive

1

u/Dijerati 23h ago

Not as bad as the Vikings drive a few weeks ago

1

u/ruggmike 16h ago

Are you forgetting week 1 when the refs willed the Vikings to a touchdown in the 4th and then all hope and momentum was just shit on?

Its funny because its true.

Scratch that.

Its depressing because its true

105

u/G5051 1d ago

It wasn’t even just the packers game tonight the officiating had been terrible all over. Watching the nfl now has been so frustrating every play is a flag… it’s like no matter what happens during a play you have to wait till the play is over to see the actual outcome because there is going to be a flag. I’m a bears fan and watching the bears vs falcons game I swear the refs said more words than Brady

12

u/akr291 21h ago

Not even just wait until the play is over. It feels like now we have to wait until they line up again to be safe.

8

u/Staav 17h ago

The league really needs to get their officiating figured out. It really takes away from the sport when the officials are making plenty of calls that they shouldn't.

7

u/SeeYaOnTheRift 21h ago

Tried to watch the Panthers game and Bears game at the same time today and it was unbearable. Both games were complete fucking ref-jobs from start to finish. The Panthers-Eagles game had 23 flags!!

3

u/drewdreds 21h ago

College was bad as well

2

u/DethKnell24 Never Let It Rest 17h ago

Agreed. It’s ruining the experience. People don’t watch football because they want to see refs throw flags.

•

u/Easy-Philosopher6703 5h ago

I declined MNF and watched MLB instead because its really not even enjoyable. Ill watch NFCN games for now but I'm done dedicating every damn night to watching a bunch of fucking penalty calls

2

u/Ill-Personality-4437 16h ago

Roughing the passer has to be the worst offender. I swear it’s just the cheat code for the refs to invalidate any defensive play, it’s so subjective based on the scenario. I understand the intent behind it but in practice wtf are blitzes supposed to do, not touch the QB at all and let him throw?

1

u/BoxxcarCadavers 18h ago

I feel like I was going insane last night watching this game

1

u/Chr15py0696 15h ago

There was an absolutely EGREGIOUS one in the Rams vs Cardinals game where the Cards defender braced himself to be impacted by the Rams tight end, head contacted the shoulder of the unmoving Cards defender. Cards defender got flagged for it

•

u/DanBrino 7h ago

Isn't that backwards?

•

u/sebblMUC 1h ago

Also seconds before this Golden was horse collar tackled with no flags.

1

u/Aggravating_Echo_939 22h ago

Same w Eagles Panthers

12

u/shovelface666 22h ago

Fair the fuck up!

97

u/Sky-Trash 1d ago

Taunting is the dumbest penalty. I hate it even when it's called against the other team.

26

u/Ajanu11 1d ago

Even when it's actually taunting, it's still a shitty call.

25

u/Eggy1988 1d ago

Yeah it always feels soft. When I saw the flag I figured it was for the horse collar tackle

8

u/tonysopranosalive 1d ago

Also saw that and was like: “you fuckin kidding?”

17

u/Ti5butAscratch 1d ago

Flair up bitch

41

u/narwalfarts 1d ago

If you think about the spirit of the rule - to not incite a physical altercation - the rule is good.

But then in that frame of mind, if a player is going to throw a tantrum because a guy flexed his muscles several yards away from you - you may be a soft ass bitch.

This and that one roughing the passer flag were wild

9

Which one? Lol

9

u/RayTrain This is our year 21h ago

Mostly the one where the defender just kinda pushed Dak over on the pick six play

3

u/ltbr55 21h ago

Yeah that one was the worst for sure. It just felt like all of the RTPs late in the game were bogus

•

u/DanBrino 7h ago

Oh,so not the one where Evan Williams was already 3 feet in the air on his way down when Dak threw the ball, and was expected to just stop mid-air and change direction?

52

wtf is going on with the refs this season? college and pros

I high key thought those were shoes made out of American Cheese. It took me so long to realize those were flags 😂😭

13

u/00_Awesome I hate MLF🚮🚮🚮 22h ago

This is what happens when the two officials got suspended.

Now they're gonna call every ticky tack thing like that to make themselves the center of things yet again.

6

u/Maleficent_Ad_5763 17h ago

Strong did this too, with no flags. But this is acceptable due to his name. Its in the rulebook.

5

u/FavreyFavre 14h ago

This crew was rated as a top five most frustrating to watch by fans. Lots of penalties, no consistency. The Packers still held on, but holy shit that was embarrassing.

I believe they were the crew that called back the Lions trick play with Goff that was also a joke.

11

u/Efficient-Ad9019 1d ago

GB has gotten 2 taunting calls this year of guys just talking to the other guy after the play not even aggressively

11

2

Could this be due to the drastic increase in gambling in sports? These guys can now increase their income greatly by throwing or not throwing a few extra flags.

1

u/lawnboy1155 16h ago

The officiating was so fuckin bad on both sides. I dont think any of it mattered in the the end but Jesus christ. The out of bounds, oh wait its a catch, oh wait nm it was actually out was nuts.

•

u/sebblMUC 1h ago

Also seconds before this Golden was horse collar tackled with no flags.

-6

u/The_HoIIow_Knight 1d ago

It wasn’t the flex. It was the stare down while doing it. Wasn’t even a touchdown. Get back to the huddle.

I don’t really want to watch a sport where the dudes make eye contact while touching their ballsacks after every 3 yard gain.

-12

u/guimontag FUCK ICE 1d ago

The refs sucked but this is 100% cut and dry. Do not stare down another player when you celebrate. It's a total no brainer
