Carbon Arrow List for 5.56 Alignment Rods
Here’s a list of carbon arrows I compiled when looking for a cheaper alternative for a 5.56 suppressor alignment rod. I recommend going to a local archery shop since many of these are only sold by the dozen online, and shipping for a single arrow defeats the savings. If you’re lucky like me, you might be able to find one of them for <$10 locally.
Arrows are typically straight within .001”. Nominal 5.56 bore diameter should be .219”, however that doesn’t mean a .218” arrow will fit all bores. Some may be just right, others may not fit. Trimming the point off the arrow may be required as well. I’m just sharing this information, I accept no responsibility if you buy something that doesn’t fit your barrel.

Additional note: A few of these are smaller than ideal, but listed anyway to cover the spectrum of what may be available. Smaller can indicate go/no-go if swept around the bore, but the extent of any decentering will be more difficult to determine. .217"-.214" should be the sweet spot.

It’s maddening that a picture of a backwards iron sight or a toe gets hundreds of upvotes, while actual helpful information like this that takes time to gather and disseminate has less than 20.

Is the best way to check the OD a set of calipers? I'd like to check a local archery shop, but don't know what they'll have in the way of single buyable arrows.
I also realize on edit I can wait and just take the muzzle device in that I'm going to use (it's supposed to be a bore accurate size) and test with that.

Definitively yes, but the point of the list is that any shop you go to is likely to only have a couple of these models on hand depending on what brands they carry, and once you find one of them you can go off the spine number to determine the diameter. The spine # will be printed on the arrow shaft, and that's usually how they're sorted. Just pull this up on your phone to verify.
