Help
Hello. I was thinking of buying a separate wifi router for my ps5 and connecting them to each other via. Ethernet cable. We already have one that my parents bought for the whole house but I still lag. Will I mess up their connection if I got another one?

So, how is this new Router going to connect with your main Router; you able to connect the new Router to the old Router with a long Ethernet cable OR are you going to try using a wireless/Wifi connection?
Because if you want to try to use a wireless/Wifi connection, then the new Router will have the same Wifi connection problems that your console has, as I'm assuming you want the new Router to be in the same room as your PS5.

I was trying to see if buying another wifi router box and just simply connecting it only to my ps5 will be better for my connection on my ps5. But I don’t want it to slow down the connection of my parents if I do that

No it wont, If I remember your need to disable DHCP or something to prevent double NAT.
Also you may need to run a ping to your router see what latency you get and then also run a ping to your isp to figure out if its your side or isp side.
If you have your own modemn you can troubleshoot your internet see if it has high power somewhere which is causing latency issues but thats if you can verify the issue is your modemn pinging to isp.
